The Future Stars of Photomanipulation #2

*Iardacil:iconIardacil: reports, September 16, 2007
After the announcement that ~The-Undiscovered project has been closed, *Iardacil, who was a staff member there, felt that there is now big gap for featuring up and coming future artists. So, to try to fill that gap a little, she asked her dear and talented friend =Behana to help her and the result they produced this news article.

The aim of this article is to give exposure for promising, talented and outstanding photomanipulators, who have had little or no exposure so far. These deviants are chosen for their skill, works, originality and variety.

Maybe these fortnightly features combined with our words of encouragement will help some new photomanipulators catch some of the limelight, but also to give audience’s here some idea that in the world of photomanipulations there are no borders and the possibilities are endless. The only limit is your imagination.

There are four categories, all based on how many pageviews the deviant has. Under 100, Under 1 000, Under 10 000, Under 20 000.

Under 100:

:bulletred:~guylaine gallery is just beginning but those few works we can see there - really promising and eye-catching. After noticing her work "Mon livre d'histoire" I’ve been impressed by the artists skills. I just couldn't believe my eyes when I went on her page and saw only 17 pageviews. Her gallery is worth so much more and I am sure with her bright outlook on life, she will get more notice soon.

:bulletpurple:When I first saw ~Leosya’s gallery I a bit at a loss….her works weren’t particularly detailed but they were engaging and they drew you in. The poses of the women were beautiful but sad and exquisite at the same time. They called out to you through the piece. Her minimalist use of stock and extensive texturing creates simplistic pieces that are hard to forget.

Under 1 000:

:bulletred:I simply love ~janne-landet-dreams gallery. She manages to create such a magical and intense atmosphere that you forget you’re only looking at it on a computer. Her expressive use of colour and tone are extremely impressive and dramatic. But what I like most about her work is her vision…..that she wants to do with the piece she’s creating. Her ideas are so clear and simple yet they intrigue the viewer, who wants to know more. This is an exceedingly hard skill to master…..and I haven’t seen it used it’s full potential until I saw ~janne-landet-dreams’s gallery.

Under 10 000:

:bulletpurple:~manips-of-artist2 has been on Deviantart only some weeks and those few works he has uploaded, just have amazed not only me, but quite many other artists around. He just has something so unique, bright, eye-catching, enchanting in his works. They are dreamlike, pure, like childhood dreams, full of hope, calmness and peace. His star will be shining very bright.

:bulletblue:~AngelDallas has worked with his own style so hard and the results are just superb but with many very unique and different styles, some people may not take them very easily. But the way his skills, balanced sense for composition, strong emphasized ideas and outstanding colour choices stand out from his works just leaves me speechless.

:bulletred:*invisibly-touched has very vivid, varying gallery with unique techniques and composition that I cannot name another artist whose works are like hers. She uses stock we have seen quite much around but the outcome is somehow surreal, but mostly very outstanding by its theme, look. From the start she has had incredible technique and original style.

:bulletpurple:*ArtistInProgress is one of those artists who has everything on her works that she needs for wider attention but so far she just hasn't got it. Her works are like fairytales, full of all the mystical, vivid and enchaining elements. They have something that catches your attention and those strong colors she uses just fascinates the eye. She has her own wonderland and generously she has opened it for us - all we need is just to enter into the magical world of her photomanips.

:bulletblue:When I search for features for this article I want to see pieces that stand out maybe for originality, use of stock…etc…
However there are those pieces that you recognise as popular deviant’s work…..they have a definitive style……colour choices….so when I saw a piece from ~Maliciarosenoire’s gallery I instantly dismissed it as a piece from a popular deviants gallery (as was the level of skill and technical ability).
After searching through a few more pages…I couldn’t get the image out of my head so I went back and clicked on it. What a world I had stepped into!
~Maliciarosenoire has to be one of the most skilled and yet brilliantly creative manipulators I have come across and I was astonished to find out she had little more than 2000 pagveiws!

Under 20 000:

:bulletred:=arrsistable has found quite unique way for her manips as she do not concentrate on person as the centre of her works but the mystery of the nature and beauty of horses. The way her dreamscape backgrounds with elegant and graceful horses combines something so powerful and influential, that they will haunt you for a long time.

:bulletpurple:I’ve known *Iribel’s name for some time (I don’t remember how) but I’d never looked at her gallery. One boring Sunday afternoon whilst looking for features for this article I was looking through my watch list and saw her name. Interested I checked out her page and knew instantly I was going to feature her here. Her work is so diverse and covers such a range. Conceptual, dark, fantasy emotional she’s done it all, and what’s better she’s done it in style. All her pieces all have quirks that are hard to find in mainstream photomanipulation.

:bulletblue:With =damedemort we have a classically technically brilliant photomanipulator. However, this does not mean she is in anyway ordinary. Her technical capabilities and expanse of knowledge are astounding and in my opinion the fact that she has less than 20 000 pageviews is a crime. Looking through her gallery you can see the way she has grown as a manipulator and how she’s progressed through a range of styles, creating beautifully unique pieces along the way.

Other Deviants/Clubs that are dedicated to making the Undiscovered……..Discovered

:bulletred::iconamateur-manips:

This is a club we met through the forums. It’s dedicated to featuring amateur manipulators. When we left a comment offering help if they needed they came back to us with a note.

“You mentiond that you would like to help with the club in some way, and I have come up with something! Our club events tend to have a rather low rate of participation and I was wondering if for our next event you would pick your favourite entry and include it in your news article of features. I'm sure if the members of my club felt they had something to 'win' in a way, they would be more motivated to actually submit their manips.”

Of course we would love to help…..so if you are an amateur manipulator go and join:iconamateur-manips: now and enter their contest that starts on October 1st for a chance to win a feature in this article!

:bulletpurple::iconhidden-treasures:
This club is a sister site to ~The-Undiscovered and is founded by *ThornErose. She got permission to found the club from the ~The-Undiscovered and we hope it will be just as popular!
So please if you were a member of ~The-Undiscovered please take a look at this new club and join it. I’m sure it’ll be worth your while.
