This is the next in my series of
Simplicity - it's Simple! news articles, where I promoting the idea that the simplest photographs are the best. As I'm sure you're aware, simplicity in a photograph is not just about the cmposition, lighting or subject of a shot, but also what it's about, what it means and what it speaks out to the masses.
Macro/Close-up photography is
so easy to be simple, yet so many people find it increasingly difficult to create a photograph that captures the eye. What I'm saying is this - find a subject that captures your eye, and photograph it in the simplest way possible.
Here are some great examples of plant macros:

I love this shot - it's pure, simple, unadulterated and easy to look at. It's not about background, lighting or detail, it's purely about the simplicity of the subject. For those of you who think that this kind of shot is impossible for you to take, think again. hold up a pice of white cardboard (clean) behind a piece of grass and try taking aphoto of it and you will achieve a similar effect. I know ~
Gosia used posh equipment to take this shot, but it simply isn't necessary...

This is also a remarkably simple photo, and to let you know, this photographer has only really been taking photographs for a year - it's that easy! What I'm trying really hard to get across to you all is that it's not impossible to achieve amazing results, even with equipment that isn't the best! It's not the equipment that takes the picture, it's the photographer...
Tips:
1. Make the subject as simple as possible. Take out everything that isn't needed, take a photo, and then re-assess the need for various parts of the photo. If necessary, take out everything, and then put one thing back in.
2. Get the lighting simple. As always, natural lighting is the best stuff out there.
3. Photograph something that interests you!
Right, now get out there, find a subject and take photos!
