You might even be one hell of a profesional, but if you don't SHOW it and PROVE it, how will everyone know? These facts are important not only when you are looking for a job, but in any situation when you wish to showcase your work. I decided to share a few guidelines that might help you give the best of yourself and help you be a better profesional.
Current trend on placing personal political comments in Political or Military Photojournalism Daily Deviations is making many others uncomfortably worried. What's going on and what can be done about it?
Do you do your share to make your school, your community, and the world a better place? Do you take responsibility for what goes on around you, participate in community service, help take care of the environment, be a good neighbor, treat other people with respect and dignity, follow the rules of your family, your school, and your society? Are you politically knowledgeable and active? What does it mean to you to be a citizen?

Maru continues rambling about the issue of tracing on deviantART. Thoughts about the new(?) fan art "vector" category, an admin's statements about fan art, and the drama surrounding the AX poster contest.
These are my thoughts about the influence that comments have on the rating system used on DeviantART. If you also ask for hits, comments and suggestions everytime you uplode a deviations please, read.
Is there such a thing as local art now? With us all using the internet and seeing other cultures art styles are we heaading for a universal style that incorporates everyone and everything?
This article looks into British art and what this little country has to offer the global scene.
An artist that really caught my eye with their style is incorporating her Chinese heritage into her style.
"My art style isn't hugely different to others, being almost exclusively anime-based, although being influenced by traditional Chinese art. It's only recently that I've done more typical anime art purely as a test to see if I COULD conform, because since I'm still at a stage where I'm trying new things all the time, I have to make sure I have all the basic techniques down before I can develop or discard things to create a style I call my own."
Another promising artist is
"I think there are a lot of very talented artists in Britain at the moment but I do find some of the more contemporary art seems to be made just to shock people, and i find that style of work unsettling (but I think thats the artists plan)"
"Thats a hard one, My art style seems to vary a lot depending on my mood but I do do some art nouveau style drawings that in the past have been compared to Aubrey Beardsley im obviously not as good as him but maybe one day (fingers crossed)"
An aspiring artist that prefers a darker style.
"I'm studying Animation & Illustration at University at the moment so yes, I would really like to make a career out of it but I highly doubt it will be easy as I'd imagine very few careers are (especially creative ones)."
A thought provoking photographer next.
I like her style and indivuduality. Some truely beautiful images.
Fractal and abstract artist has a great gallery with plenty of colours and interesting ideas.
Photographer has an interesting range of subjects in his gallery.
Talented digital artist has a wonderful gallery to view.
A HUGE THANKYOU to all of the people who
sent me their work to look at!
Thankyou for reading this article and I hope you visit some of the artists pages and show them some love!
"I love Britain with a passion. ;D "
"HOORAY - Britishness... "
Its an interesting point you make regarding the influence of the internet on Art styles and influences, got me thinking about it now as I often use the internet as a resorce for checking out my own ideas and so have i surposed absorbed far wider visual styles than I'd ever have had acess to from my local.
certainly Manga and anami would not have moved so fast across the world with out the ease of acess the nternet provides, and also useing the internet to display work gives global feedback that is not self limiting by local attitudes.
I think many british artists have found a kind of freedom of restriction from Populist works being imposed on them via there own country.
Yea I agree. As a youth I had never heard of Anime and now its everywhere.
Seems to me that the current trend for British are is to shock as I quoted above. Its all about dead things in formaldahide and piles of manure. Surely we can do better than this?

It's good to see work from Britain being posted around. It proves that we're so diverse and unique. And not the standard stereotype we tend to be branded with.
out of interest what do you think our stereotype of work is? I feel its very much based on when British art was coming into its popart phase and since then what I would call shock art.

Yeah. Well I meant more 'Stereotype in general'. How people seem to think we british are the complete opposite to how we actually are and such. And that does run through to a lot of things. I've met a lot of people that seem to assume that we're all well, not very vibrant people. Which isn't true at all.
I'm sure there's many perceptions of the stereotype. It's just nice to be able to show Britain's true work.
YAY - I was featured. Thank you ever so much, this is the first News Article I've been featured in, so this means a lot to me.
And it's not just with the art, but with the quote too.
HOORAY indeed for Britishness.

First off, everyone here at deviantART would like to say THANK YOU!!! We have received an overwhelming amount of enthusiasm for the launch of version 6 and believe that this has been our best-received launch to date.

`karemelancholia is one of the most genuine deviants you could ever met. Always active and a true deviantART cheerleader and supporter in every aspect. You can always count on her to lend a hand or get involved, and you usually will find her doing large amounts of both at any given moment. She's consistently reports on contests around dA, showcases the efforts of her fellow artists and shows her charitable side through various activities. Besides all of this, she's a truly talented artist which is why she's an obvious choice for deviousness this month. Read More
