Sinan found himself clad in a nice, expensive suit, complete with a tall, black top hat. He looked around. He was surrounded by people who seemed equally confused (and in the same attire), but he approached a woman and tapped on her shoulder to inquire just what was going on. "Excuse me," he whispere, "Where are we?"
The woman fakely smiled at him and shrugged as she shook her head. "I'm not sure either, I don't think anybody knows. Sorry."
Both of their attentions were pulled from each other as the muffled echoing noise of a tap-tap on a microphone erupted through hidden speakers.
"Ladies and Gentleman! May I have your attentions, please!!" A young woman's voice boomed.
Sinan leaned up and over to glare ahead, where a stage sat; along with a young woman in attire that consisted of red, white and black victorian-style men's clothing. He raised a worried eyebrow.
"Thank you..." The woman on the stage muttered. "Most of you have many questions as to your presense here." She said this with a mysterious tone, and murmurs in the large crowd questioned what she meant by her tone. She continued. "I can answer all these questions with one more inquiry."
Sinan and the woman next to him looked up with bugged, worried, quetioning eyes.
"What do you want most...?"
Suddenly a blackness took over all of Sinan's sight- and when it cleared, he found himself in a moonlit, desolate field, with another figure facing him. He widened his eyes to let them adjust to the dark; and when they did, he pulled his head back and gasped. It was the woman who he'd talked with earlier, and she was holding a hooked sword of some sort.
"FIGHT!!!!"

Welcome to the 2007 Battle Elimination contest, hosted by yours truly, StripeyMistress! In this high-class-styled Character Contest, your own OC will be randomly pitted against another's OC in a duel, illustrated by a picture, comic, animation or by prose. Judges will determine the winner based off effort, story, format and skill (in that order from most important to least important).

But this OC Battle Contest is a little more complicated than just the general. Here's how things will work:

o1) You will enter the contest via a note to my account. IT MUST BE A NOTE, OTHERWISE I MIGHT OVERLOOK THE REQUEST AND YOU MAY NOT BE ENTERED!!!

o2) After the deadline has passed, I will mix up the contestants' characters wiht their opposites. I.E: A character who uses guns and sci-fi gadgets might be put against a tiger warrior who lives primitively in the jungle.

o3) BATTLE TIME!~ Start your project, depicting your character beating your opponents' in some way, whether it be rendering them unconscious or winning over them in a riddle contest. YOU MAY NOT, HOWEVER, KILL YOUR OPPONENT. I'M LOOKING FOR ORIGINALITY here, people!~

o4) After the deadline for the round is passed, the judges will do their judging, and I will post the results of the winners the next day.

o5) After everybody sees the results I will mix up the winners, and we'll repeat steps 2-5 until we have the great victor ^_^

*~:Rules:~*

-You may NOT kill your opponent. This makes for a more interesting challenge, because if your character is a serial killer then they'll have to find some other way to beat their opponent ;D
-Your character must be dressed in formal clothing, consisting only (but does not have to contain all of) the colours red, black and white.
-Your entry must be submitted to deviantART before the deadline!! If you're a few minutes late to noting me your entry, then that's fine.
-Don't worry about getting overwhelmed trying to get your entries done- the deadlines will be at least 2 weeks apart, because of school and work and stuff ^_^
-YOUR ENTRY MUST BE SUBMITTED TO DEVIANTART. Parental controls forbid me from getting to an other site. If dA is giving you problems, then go ahead and submit it to Photobucket, and you can email me the file.

-Imagination is key!! This is why killing your opponent is not an option.~
-All mediums will be judged equally. This means a flash animation will not win over a writing piece just because it's an animation. Your better off going with a comic, really.
