We all know that sometimes it is hard to come by great stock. Fortunately, there are stock artists like *Pirate-Queen, also known as Amber. *PirateQueen-Stock is a well-known stock account. While she is well known, with over 200,000 pageviews, and two daily deviations, this feature is well deserved.


These are just a few examples of her creative stock images.

I constructed a few interview questions to learn more about our featured stock artist, and her art.

Q: What inspired you to become a stock artist? Do you look up to anyone in particular?
A: Well to be honest with you I had no intentions of becoming a stock artist it just sort of happened haha. This year I started my own Photography & Art business with my family and through our idea's and pictures we decided to create a main account here on Deviantart (*Pirate-Queen) to show our Artwork and Photography. Since being on here I noticed a lot of artists like to use other peoples pictures/stock to create their own work of art. So I decided to share mine in order to help other artists create their own unique art. I honestly had no idea that it was going to take off as big as it has, but I really enjoy providing for the artists and I love seeing what they create.

The only person I really look up to is My mom and it's always been that way, she's my best friend and inspires me everyday.

Q: It's difficult, at times, to find good stock that hasn't been used one too many times. What do you think differs your stock from all the others?
A: I believe what makes my stock different from all the others is that I try to provide a little bit of everything. My stock is filled with backgrounds, textures, all kinds of images, unique outfits/costumes and poses.

Q: What ideas do you have for future stock images?
A: Oh I can promise you it's only going to get better. I'm planning a trip soon in October to go to Florida which I plan to come back with a ton of new stock, pluss I have many requests to fullfill from this trip. There will be underwater portraits, backgrounds, more textures, sea life, hopefully some medevil type stock. All kinds, I dont want to give too much away

Q: How do you like your images to be used most? (Example Drawings, Vectors, Manipulations) Explain.
A: I love the manipulations! however I don't try to influence any of the artists on how to create the picture. I like to see what comes from their own thoughts and imagination. I do get frustrated with artists though that don't follow the rules and will only change the shading or color tint, or just put a border/frame around it and call it their own artwork. I love it when artists are creative!, I have run across a few people that have stolen my stock pictures and placed them up on other sites without even asking me permission or telling me about it. I really wouldn't mind if they asked permission and could atleast give credit as to who or where the picture came from, in my opinion I don't think that's too much to ask.

Q: How would you describe your stock images?
A: Creative, Unique, and Inspiring.

Q: If someone wanted to start a stock account, what advice would you give them?
A: Make sure you have good quality pictures first, be creative and make sure your images aren't out of focus. In my opinion I would say to keep your rules simple, I find that some stock artists require a bit too much in order to use their pictures. One thing I would warn the person who wants to start a stock account is to be prepared for people who feel the need to tell you how to run things. From time to time I do come across people that tell me to only have a few pictures up, or my pictures are too light, too dark, or they complain about the background when the background is something to be taken out anyway, etc etc. What frustrates me most about this is I go through a lot of hard work and a great deal of expense to offer this for artists to use free of charge. When I get people like this who complain in my opinion about petty things it can make you feel unappreciated for what you're doing for them on stock that they use. I feel that a true or good artist can create anything from any picture that they choose to without complaining about it.

Q: Anything else you want to say?
A: I can't wait for everyone to see the new stock that'll be coming in October! Definitly keep a look out and I hope everyone has a good Halloween!.
