Radio X is up!.

Hi! My name is Oksana and I have been operating my own Internet Radio Station from my home and broadcasting live on Shoutcast Radio for few months. This is a completely non-profit station and is for all of deviantART members and staff to enjoy as well as anyone else who can connect and listen.

I play a variety of music and usually have one or two "Concept" shows a week featuring such content as Girlbands, all Progressive Rock, Electronica, and Oldies.

All of the connection information and instructions can be found on my dA page but tonight I will include this here.

It's free! It's hot! It's happenin' and it's for everyone at dA to enjoy.




I will be working Live! tonight and broadcasting on a shared host line to Göthenburg, Sweden starting at 9:00 PM Central Daylight Time. This will be the first time I have tried to do a live server show. It could get hairy!!

The station is up and operating now but it is on automatic so I don't even know what's playing. I will take over about 8:45 PM CDT. Be there or be square!!

Windows PC Users

Windows Media Player - This player should be present in your computer if you have Windows XP.

1. Open Windows Media Player


2. Click on the File Menu in the upper left corner and choose “Open URL..” or hold down the Ctrl key and then press the U key and the box will open.


3. In the open dialog box type this in or copy and paste it from here http:// wlox. serverroom. us:7944
(remove spaces in address)

4. Click Ok – The player should connect

Winamp MP3 Player - If you do not have the Winamp player you can go to [link] and download it for free

1. Open Winamp MP3 Player


2. Click on the File Menu in the upper left corner and choose " Play URL..” or hold down the Shift key and then press the L key and the box will open.

4. Click Open – The player should connect

Real Player Audio - If you do not have the Realplayer Audio you can go to [link] and download it for free

Apple Mac Users

iTunes Media Player -

1. Go to the "Advanced" tab


2. Choose "open URL"


3. In the open dialog box type this in or copy and paste it from here http:// wlox. serverroom. us:7944 (remove spaces in address)


4. Click Ok – The player should connect

All Platform Users

Shoutcast Directory -

1. Click on this link or go to [link]


2. On the page that comes up you will see a list of Internet Radio Stations. There is a search box just above the list. In the search box type in WLOX and click Go! My station ID should come up with some Information such as Now Playing and the Genre.


3. Click on the yellow Tune In! button. This should open whatever default media player you have on your computer and start playing the music.

Direct Method -

1. Type this into whatever browser you have. http:// wlox. serverroom. us:7944 and hit enter.
(remove spaces in address)

2. It will take you to the WLOX status page.


3. In the middle of the page you should see a blue listen link.


4. Click on this link and your default player should open and start playing the station.

Don't forget to remove the spaces in the address. I had to add spaces to make it show up as text here

If none of this works let me know and I will keep trying to help. It should be possible for anyone with an internet connection to tune in at anytime.

Mac Users: Here is a challenge from Microsoft. Share your info with your brothers. If you know how to get connected then send me instructions so I can post them. I do not have a Mac so I cannot duplicate the necessary steps.

Do not be afraid to send me a note and ask me for help. If you are interested in listening on a regular basis but do not want to fight with internet buffering or full servers, let me know and I will set you up in local lock so you will always be able to get on and listen when you want to.


Most of what I'll be playing will be rock n roll type stuff. Oldies and newbies and in betweenies.
