Okay, so I love fanart. I love crossovers. And I love clever ideas and hearing about other artist's OCs.
So eventually this crazy idea spawned. The premise of this contest is to have one of your characters [or yourself if you don't have OCs] interacting with one of the three characters listed below! You do not have to use the prompts provided--but they are there to help you get started~
This contest is about your fears and the human condition, meaning that everyone has dis-likes, fears, and things at really freak them out. Now, make art about it.
We want to know what love means to you!
Get your creative juices flowing and design a movie poster for "Paper Heart" that focuses on the theme "What Does Love Mean to Me?".
Inspired by Trudi Canavan's "The Black Magician Trilogy" =liam-stock and =Staub-und-Schatten produced stock images with the theme "Black Magic" for you to bring fantasy and magic to life.
A stock manipulation contest to recreate a Greek Myth, legend, or story using stock from three different DA Stock providers. Time period costumes not required. Have fun it is a contest but it is also to introduce new DA artists!

"If there be hell upon earth, it is to be found in a melancholy man's heart" R.Burton: "The Anatomy of Melancholy"
The concept of melancholy has been present in the European culture since antiquity. Ancient philosophers considered melancholy a disease, the worst of the humours, but also a source of genius and extraordinary intellect. In the Middle Ages melancholy was called "acedia", associated with seven deadly sins, and ascribed to Satan's interference. In the Renaissance times melancholy was the attribute of outstanding people and the main source of their inspiration. Modern melancholy theories include such concepts as "hysteria of the spirit", despair, spleen, ennui, Weltschmerz, the nausea, teadium vitae, or depression. Throughout centuries melancholy has been characterized by a large degree of ambiguity and alternately linked with positive and negative states. On the one hand it was a mental disease, the devil's invention and the curse for a suffering person, on the other hand, it was the source of creativity and inspiration. Melancholy is thus not merely sorrow and in my contest I'd like to see some creative interpretations of this concept. Do not limit yourself to gloomy depressive gothic images - try to catch "the other" faces of melancholy!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
The Cutting Edge is a weekly article that features brand new selected high quality art products that caught our eyes. Check out the cutting edge prints some of your fellow artists have submitted in the past week!
