Director of Artist Relations


Hello!

The purpose of Artist Relations is to strengthen the community spirit as well as network with fellow artists so that we may bring outside opportunities to you, and help you to hone your skills. The Gallery Directors are the first people you should go to regarding your galleries. They are the people you need to make gallery suggestions to, and ask questions about your specific genre, or seek knowledge from. They also act as your lifeline to the administration. They are here to support and listen, and I can tell you we've got incredibly talented, devoted and passionate people on this team, so get to know them!

The category issue is the bane of my existence. Some of you have reported instances where your submissions are going to completely inappropriate categories. I have my new 16+ page novella of hell ready and I'm going to be working on finding the remaining offenders this week.

It has also been brought to my attention that people can't find the 'scraps' gallery when they try to submit. By selecting No Category on the submission page you will be putting your submission in your scraps gallery.

Speaking of scraps! I am constantly being told how 'offensive' the name 'scraps' is. So vote here and tell me what you think it shoud be named.

You will begin to hear more about Project Streamline in the coming week as I will begin implementing this project one gallery at a time. I will be announcing what I'm working on in my journal so please stay informed so you don't get caught off guard

I will be working closely with $lolly on issues of policy and freedom of expression. We are still working on the legal issues surrounding Film and using music. We will be covering topics like fair use, music videos, mature content, current policies, etc, While on the topic of music videos, yes it's true that we aren't currently accepting them and yes it is also true we have made obvious exceptions for a couple of people we have personal relationships with because we're cognitive of the source and the fact we have no legal issues there. We're also very aware of the apparent unfairness of this and we're going to address it and try to open things up a lot more for all artists, just bear with us as we dig through the legalese. Stay tuned for more information.

Please help out my team by sending your daily deviation suggestions to one person only. There is great confusion caused when you suggest the same piece to multiple gallery directors. We appreciate it
