Let's keep our perspective

`davincipoppalag:icondavincipoppalag: reports, 2d 20h ago
My friend posted this in his journal and I think it's important enough that the whole world should take a moment to reflect on it. Yes..the world lost a talented performer and artist in Michael Jackson..but there are many more tragic deaths occurring daily all over the world that go unnoticed. Please give these heroes your prayers and thanks too.

Perspective on Sight

~Skytrite:iconSkytrite: reports, July 15
Everyone has their own perspective, the way we percieve things is changable and uncertain. Yet, undeterringly we see things as good and bad, beautiful and ugly. I suppose this is my perspective on that kind of sight.

George Carlin on Religon

~TRegnier2795:iconTRegnier2795: reports, July 16
He's gone now, but George Carlin was a philosopher as much as a comedian. When he told a joke, he did it to make us think, and that is why he was a such a success: he told it like it is.

Here's lookin' at you, George.

Schizophrenia isn't a well known desease, and I think we should talk more about it, since there're more people that we could think which actually suffer of it.
Also, the article is an interessant point of view of it, and I think that turning schizophrenia, and other mental problems as well, into art is one of the best way to deal with them. After all, there were lot of awesome artists which were "crazy". I'd say more, you need a bit of "crazyness" to be an artist ;)

Btw, when will they stop making a day for everything ? At least, give us something to be happy about :(

An incredibly thought-provoking article. There are many studies and articles out there that show exceptional artists and geniuses have brains that operate contrary to the norm. It might very well be that schizophrenia is an (if slightly) overdeveloped ability in this respect?

Idk, this will give a lot of things to think about. :) Thx.

thank you for sharing. this article gives a new insight on something many of us know nothing about, but we know it carries a strong stigma. hopefully this condition will begin to get the open minded treatment it deserves.

I agree with DJStrife. This article really opened my eyes, I'm going to read more into this illness because before now I though way more than 1% were violent towards others.

As a person with various mental health disorders, I feel like most people have the wrong ideas about people like us. I am both an artist and a scientist so I get stereotyped on both fronts... Although my disorders are harder to observe, at first glance, so most people don't notice unlike some of my friends whom afflictions are more readily apparent. I try very hard to keep myself well with several medications and talk therapy. I like many others still suffer from both the disorders and the stigma...
