My first annual Halloween haiku contest! It's rather self-explanatory: write a Halloween-themed haiku (or if you're Wiccan/otherwise Pagan and celebrate Halloween as Samhain, you can address it as such) and send it to me via a Note!
If anybody would like to donate a prize, it would be much appreciated.
GUIDELINES AND RULES: Contest begins October 9th and ends October 20th, 2007. One entry per person. Send your haiku to me via Notes with 'Halloween Haiku' or something to that affect in the subject line.
All submission must be in English with the standard 5-7-5 formatting. Don't try to be smart by doing things like splitting hyphenated words between lines, etc. Stunts like that will get you disqualified. Haikus may not contain offensive or hateful material; mild language is acceptable. If your entry is disqualified, I'll tell you why and give you a chance to submit a new haiku.
JUDGING: A winner will be announced by October 23rd. I will be judging the entries myself and with the input of friends who are not participating in the contest.
PRIZES: First prize is a free, Halloween-themed chibi commission of the character of their choice (as long as it's not an anthro; I have no experience drawing them) drawn and fully colored by me, plus a one month subscription and 3-piece journal feature (pieces from their gallery of my choice)
The runner up gets a 3-piece journal feature (pieces of my choice) and a postcard-sized print of their choice from a deviant of their choice!
Happy writing!
