Making an
informed opinion which satisfies you and those who you come across these days is harsh when dealing with Global Warming (a misnomer, it is more correctly referred to as climate destabilization).
The reason this is harsh is because when using "science" as your backup,
if you cannot explain why you believe what you believe, people tend to discredit you.
Four months ago you may have encountered a video on youtube, break.com, digg.com, myspace, or even here, which sought to give the Joe Schmoe in everyone a short and clear decision making grid.
Turns out there were some big assumptions within the argument the video maker presented.
Now the maker, wonderingmind42 by screen name, has released
a better version. With expansions. You could even go so far as to say it has been improved from the first one by skeptics, conspiracy theorists, zealots, believers, and the lot.
What the new videos seek to do is to provide the viewer with the tools with which to make an informed decision.
So do you want to stop citing "because I think so," or "because the government is funding a conspiracy," as
your reasons why or why not you believe climate change to be happening?
I do. Go watch the
video, maybe check out some of the numerous follow-up videos if you have other questions. Or need more ammunition.
Or
decide between which verb you like better,
guess if our science is correct about climate destabilization, or
choose what way you want to react to what the science is telling us.
Devious Comments
Fact: The world naturally goes through climate changes (600 yrs ago, we had a mini ice age)
Fact: 1 horse gave out more methane in one day than the average driver.
Global warming is real. Do we have to worry about it? not for a few hundred years or so.
... and queue the flame wars ...

But the horse's carbon (methane oxidizes to produce carbon dioxide) came out of the atmosphere three weeks ago.
The driver's carbon came out of the atmosphere tens of millions of years ago.
