A fairy tale or fairy story is a fictional story that usually features folkloric characters (such as fairies, goblins, elves, trolls, witches, giants, and talking animals) and enchantments, often involving a far-fetched sequence of events.

Charles Perrault was the French author who laid the foundations for most of the fairy tales known today: Little Red Riding Hood, Sleeping Beauty, Puss in Boots, Cinderella, Bluebeard, Hop o’ My Thumb, Diamonds and Toads and Donkeyskin just to mention a few.


What’s this contest you keep mention all about? and what does this Perrault guy have to do with it?

Well, you’re gonna be doing an illustration or taking a picture for Charles Perrault’s La Belle au bois dormant, non other than the original version of the well known Sleeping Beauty! You can do a specific scene, a general picture, a sequence, whatever’s on your mind! Isn’t it fun?
