Save the Baby Seals

~Earth-Is-Calling:iconEarth-Is-Calling: reports, October 13, 2007

Save the Baby Seals.

The Canadian government has announced the plans to expand the harp seal hunt, permitting the slaughter of almost 1 million baby harp seals over the period of three years. That's would be like killing 25% of the human babies born in a year. By late March of this upcoming year, Canadian seal killers will kill baby harp and hood seal with rifles and clubs. In 2003, 350,000 baby seals were killed during the hunt. Please sign the petition below and send it to everyone who cares for the animals in the world to stop this extremely cruel slaughter of innocent seals in Canada.

Sign the Petition to end the Baby Seal Hunt

More than 319,000 harp seals will be clubbed or shot to death this year in Canada. 96% of them will be less than 3 months old, and some may even be skinned alive. Click the link below and click the big blue button on the page to let the sponsors donate to the cause.

15 Things You Can Do to Protect Seals

If you would like me to add a link or information related to this cause, please leave me a comment. If you would like to see another cause featured in this club, please click Here and tell me about it. Its very easy! And it doesn't have to be animal related, any cause that helps make the earth a better place is excepted!

Why do I provide graphic videos? I think that it take something as drastic as showing what actually happens to get people motivated to actually do something. People are very visual learners, and thats why I believe that its something to hear about something, but when you see it, thats what makes a difference.

Yes, that would be like killing 25% of the babies born... if the skin of babies was worth money and helped support aboriginal communities and put food on the tables of hundreds of families.

It's exactly like killing babies.

Animals are people too. Just because we walk on two feet and can talk, doesn't mean we deserve more than any other animal.

I think the problem is that there really isnt that big of a demand for seal fur its not worth that much, so they have to kill more baby seals to get more money. Its really sick. I signed the petition last year.

Either way, I don't think its right to kill them, especially when they are just babies, I mean they hardly have anytime to enjoy life at all. Thank you for the comment and the fav!

Oh yeah. I'm way against this. I think its some of the sickest shit I've seen. I truly have no idea how anyone in the right of mind can go out and rip baby seals from their mothers and clubb them to death.
