In 1st Place =Mr-Garbo won with his amazing piece "Waiting"



"Let us have a look at what inspires him, when did he start Photography, and what goes in his mind.

=Mr-Garbo 17 years old a student at the Emirates International School - Jumierah , Doing The Diploma Program.

His future plan is continuing his hobby and his passion as a photographer, where his dream stretched into his owning his own series of photography shops one day.

He started photography about 1 year ago, with his 3 Mega Pixel K800i phone camera, by taking snaps of things around him, and soon noticed that he's got a keen interest in photography. In about about 8 months, he took his first step into buying a more professional camera that would produce higher image quality, With his new Nikon D40x and throughout the days he's developed and still developing his skills into being a better photographer.

As for this picture =Mr-Garbo gave a brief overview about that was taken in Turkey,Istanbul,The Blue Mosque.

"I was sitting in the blue mosque in turkey, when I noticed that women sitting all alone with tears coming out of her eyes, I couldn't get my eyes of her because of how dramatic that was. After that I decided I'll be losing a lot if i didn't take that shot, and what really inspires me in photography is that its a language that could be translated in many ways.
This Picture is about how a human being can be left lonely while waiting for something , or how painful it can be to wait for something that might simply not be there or happen. This picture gave me the inspiration to learn that patience is important".

In 2nd Place *Blushd won with her piece "Hope Among Ruins"



Lets know more about her shall we?

*Blushd 20 years of age, studied at a University in Boston, USA. Returned for her last year to the UAE where she transfered her credits to a UK university. She is currently working on an independent study research, where in God's willing will be receiving her Bachelors in Business Studies Honors.

Within the artistic aspect, she's planning to take her first photography course, to learn more about its technicalities and improve on her skill and knowledge. Hopefully then she would prepare her first gallery in the future.


Two summers ago, during her vacation in Switzerland, she had a regular small digital camera which she took some shots with here and there as a memory of our stay, where found herself enjoying capturing the way she see things and sharing her view with others.


"Throughout the years my interest in photography deepened; by then, I decided to get a professional SLR camera. As I stood in the store with Dad, he kept looking at the 30D with doubt; since he thought the cam was too big on me , “6abooga 3a golta” a brick , so he kept asking me whether I wanted a smaller and cuter one Anyways I was really excited taking shots here and there, playing with the different modes and slowly building my skills. I’ve never taken a photography course, and no one from my family knew much about it, so I was determined to learn what I can on my own. My family and friends enjoyed the pictures I took, which in itself kept me motivated to venture forward and explore this world more."


"Art is a beautiful feel within people. If you have an artistic nature, then it doesn’t really stop no matter how long time passes. Aside from the public exposure, I enjoy taking shots of my family, natural, random , funny pictures "lazm a'6ahr elf'6aay7" Their walls are soon to be clustered by my photographs. I enjoy presenting the ones I care for with stuff I originally created, it simply means more and carves lovely memories. Therefore, making my family happy and being able to contribute something from my talent to them, is what I find most worthwhile; hopefully I’ll continue being active in this way first and for most."


regarding the picture that was taken In her room, during renovation she briefly explains what inspired her

"When I first opened the door to the room, I couldn’t help being drawn to the light streaming through the windows, cutting through the black nylon, it made it look like a different world. I didn’t see the mess and emptiness but instead I felt like it was the start of a new beginning. I just had to translate that feeling through my cam, and that’s what came out of it.
The poem I wrote in its description, explains what I feel when looking at this picture. It’s about having an optimistic view towards life no matter how terrible the tragedies are and how painful the falls. It’s about holding on to faith and believing that even bad things have a good aspect to them once we look deeper. I’ve been through a lot of difficult, life changing situations and I learned that the best way to cope through it all is to have faith that God is with those who wait and are patient so never loose hope. “3sa takraho shay2n wahowa 5ayrn lkm , for those who don’t know Arabic this verse from the Quran modestly translated means “ Do not hate something which might turn out to be good for you” I try to always look at life with that in mind and that’s what this picture is about

This is picture is ver of the special pics to me. Yet all the works I submit have a personal significance. I can’t create these pictures unless I’m moved or inspired by something or want to send a certain message. I like translating what I feel and think into photographs and poetry; each medium complimenting the other"

Her model for this picture is her sister, where she is the model in most of her kids shots.

In 3rd Place ~ganna9a won with her piece "Carpe Diem"



~ganna9a is 17 years old who just enrolled to University, and is thinking of majoring in Interior Design. She also dreams of having strong name world wide in the interior design industry.

~ganna9a 4 years ago started photography with the crappiest camera ever, that she can't even recall it's name.

She briefly gave us an explanation about her piece that was taken in Evian Les Bains (small french village where the famous water is made)

"This picture was taken during the summer vacation in Evian, that day the weather was nice and i took my little sister (meme ) to model for me. For once in my life i was optimistic for having fun and enjoy the weather that I will be deprived from in months, this was a shot out of 90-100 shots and weather effects my mood. it came out perfectly in this photo"

This shot has a a personal significants to her where it reminds her to savor the moment.
