For this posting on Traditional Art Day I would like to concentrate on three very different Artists working in Traditional Media.
I ask you to consider that these Artists are working from Austria, India and The United States, illustrating the truth that visual art is a global language, and Traditional Art is very much alive here at deviantArt, speaking volumes!

Birgit takes me places... She takes me to some beautiful, peaceful, silent places. Her landscapes go on forever and take you with them if you let them. This is what happens when I lose myself in her work and time takes a back seat to viewing.
There is a freedom in her work, which allows the viewer to drift into his or her own imagination. Not only in her stunning work with watercolour which shows a skill that defies the casual glance, but also in her striking abstract expressions in acrylics.
To find two contrasting types of work, which are different in feeling but equally powerful, is a rare skill and a pleasure to behold. Go and lose yourself in one of her watercolour landscapes for a while...see where it takes you!

The thing that I find so captivating about this artists work is the essence there of what is quite obviously a very spiritual man, who uses traditional, and digital mediums, as well as photography to create.
But far from this being a dogmatic effort to express a particular view of life or spiritual path his work illustrates what can be pleasingly described as one mans truth...a truth, which resonates on a personal and universal level. This truth and honesty is an important thing when in the practice of visual expression and he does this very profoundly.
But his work is not only spiritually satisfying it is also beautifully expressed! We see this in his traditional watercolour abstract paintings. But surprisingly we also see it crossing over effortlessly into the digital way of working. It is quite uncanny how he manages to keep his particular style, and choice of palette so true to his compositional ideas whilst hovering with a hand in both disciplines.
You'll have to go visit his gallery to see what I mean; it's well worth taking the time to view!

I have been watching this artist for a few months now and what really strikes me about her work is the impression that I'm looking at a visual diary of some ones life. But it's definitely not a made up existence.
I get the impression that Gloria is not only a woman with a home and a family and all the responsibility that comes with these things, but also someone who is passionate about life. Passionate enough about her life that she shares with us her obviously joyful desire to express these things through the medium of Traditional Art. This she does, here on deviantArt for the world to see in stunning and vivid expressions.
Her work is so beautifully honest and rings with a profound appreciation of the wonder and awe of nature and also her closeness to her family and friends in such a glorious way that I wanted to share my experience of being a fan!
Visit and enjoy!

This is way beyond expectations.
I love the contrast between my art & the others you have featured. Together we show different faces of Traditional Art.
With your insightful words, I almost feel naked (revealed). Always been a "what you see is what you get kind of person" and I find it very soothing that my art expresses this too.
Thank you!
