Imagine the Imagination

*gromyko:icongromyko: reports, October 4
Art is distinctively a product of imagination, of that faculty of the mind which has to do with perceiving images, —the image of one thing in the form of another. While science, therefore, may find a single form interesting in itself, art, at its best, never does. It looks for another form with which the first may be compared

FEATURED TRADITIONAL ARTIST

:star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star:

Today...October the 20th, has been set as a day to celebrate Traditional artists works!! To keep the spirit of traditional arts alive!!! The idea...at least from where I found it...is found here on :iconsbaraci: journal!! [link] So in honor of this day, I will be featuring an artist...in my opinion, needs some more pageviews...but his works are a pure delight!! I would like to introduce :iconalegreghi: in hopes to bring more attention to his beautiful artworks!!
Here are some of my faves!!

Not only has he created a meditative mood and contemplation, but he also puts a haze in his background, where the darkness is lightened by the presence of stagnant smoke!!

On this up close portrait, I love how the lighting is presented with the high contrasts of light and dark upon the face with just a subtle hint of blue...giving it a bit of an evening glow...and those eyes...they just look right through you!!

This one he says is a wip...but I just love how he has the blue just bouncing off that backdrop to add more color and contrast to the piece as a whole...The colors actually tie very nicely together!! It also helps to bring out the color in the ceramic plate as well, you can see its oxidized coloring**not sure the proper technique or terminology for ceramics** I think this is a great study!!

So that is my feature for and I hope you all enjoy!!

Bingo question - If 66 is "clickety click", and 22 is "two little ducks", why isn't 62 "clickety duck"?

98% of the teenage population does or has tried smoking pot. If you're one of the 2% who hasn't, copy & paste this in your signature.

W00 Beans! I had no idea there was a day dedicated to those of us too poor or too stubborn to get with the modern age. :D

I think I know I mean "Yes," but it's all wrong.
