A note from the ever-loving ~

Are you frustrated that you can never win a dA competition? Do you feel like you are belittled by those who are more popular, more outgoing and just a bit more talented? Do you feel that you need a subscription to be recognised? Do you feel like it just simply isn't working for you on dA? Then I am sure you are not alone.
A small irritation has been building up in me lately. I have entered a few competitions in my time here on dA, over a year now, and am yet to win anything. Even a runners up prize. I am sure that I'm not alone in feeling that however hard I try, even if I spend days doing something, I will never be good enough to beat those people who are so well-known and 'amazing' at everything. I just feel that the public eye here is centred on certain people, and no one else gets the chance to steal that limelight.
Sure, I had one DD, but that's about all the recognition I got. I only got one entry for my emote project, everyone just seemed to gloss over it. This is making me so disheartened that I just feel like quitting.
BUT NO!
I don't know how this is going to go down, but I have a plan. I am aware that most of my watchers probably feel the same as me, so I am proposing that we start a little project. A recognition project!
I want people to put a list of at least five people at the bottom of their journals who they believe deserve some recognition. Anyone who takes part in this project should inform me and I will add their name to my journal so people can go to all the different journals and find all these people who deserve to be noticed. People with subscriptions could even add thumbnails to give an example of the art work of these people. It might also be possible in the future to hold competitions for people who probably never win things because they aren't recognised. I really do think this will be a good idea, but I need help and I NEED people to take part.
If you do take part then here is what you should include in the Recognition part of your journal:
- A brief explanation about the project.
- The five people you believe need to be noticed more.
- A link back to my home page (
) so people can find the list of journals for the recognition project.
- A thumbnail example for the people you select (optional)
- Reasons you believe we should go to these galleries (optional)
You don't have to change your five people every week or anything - just change them when you see fit and give other people a chance. It would be nice if you copied it across if you made a new journal, however, so people can still see it on your homepage.
