I have watched ~lupsealexandru since pretty much I became a member on DA, and can honestly say he has been one of the most amazing, emotive artists I relate to, as well as great support. He helped me learn and develop and become an artist I always wanted to be. He has always provided me with the multitude of extreemly helpfull critiques, where he encouraged me to push harder, and pay attention to things I used to stuff up.

Maybe the state of depression or despair is something I saw in his work, I saw someone very simmilar in soul. Lupse Alexandru is a romanian Artist, with Masters in Fine Art, with amazing portfolio of dark artwork, where he bared his soul for the world to see, he exposed his wounded heart, his lonelyness, his pain. He has bravery to create deeply honest works that scream louder than waves crushing on beach.

I do feel bad that he has removed his older paintings from Deviant Art, his Incubus and Succubus series, that showed great amount of skill, imagination and emotion, but his newer paintings are equally as good. He developed a new beautifull, textural style, strongly contrasting the style he used to have before. His work is still very dark, he still uses strong, emotive figure work, full of hurt, and pain, that makes the viewer extreemly uncomfortable.

Exit Life Is an amazing work, full of pain and hurt, one shunning the world, facing the layers of life, all the pain, seeing everything mysty and empty as if turning towards the concrete wall, and getting lost in its textures. I like its roughness, blockness, the sharp angles and lines. To me it is as if standing towards the cracked wall observing things starting to crumble and crack around you and sulking within yourself, as if being blown away to pieces and pieced back together prolonging that agony and feeling not only of shame, but also to me it is a moment when you start to crumble.

I can't... This painting even after 1 year after seeing it still brings me to tears, makes me weep, gives me the chills down the spine. It is as if feeling uncomfortable with one self, turning away from the world, that devours them, burns them, hurts them, and in their turning away one gets stuck in their own version of private hell, unable to move, unable to look anywhere but towards the dark, unable to enjoy what life has to offer.


Violent Solitude As if shunning the light, running away from the world, from the way out. Sometimes one needs to turn to one self, no matter how self destructive. to turn to darkness, to allow one self to get engulfed, to shun the light, in order to sink within self, to find oneself.
