Ah, time for another edition of Mini-DDs...You know, I never get tired of featuring DD-worthy artwork every week. Well, I may get a bit physically tired writing all of this & putting it together...But it's a
good kind of tired.
So today (or yesterday, apparently) is Traditional Art Day here at DA! Another fun little occasion around here...Which
really makes me wish I actually had some traditional art to feature here this week. Eh, what can I say...My favorite traditional stuff just got outclassed this time around. Besides, it's not like I can really celebrate every little special day that comes around here at DA.
So I guess I could say that if you're looking for some great traditional artwork here, then maybe you should tune in next week. Of course, that's when I'll be having some great Halloween-related stuff to feature here...So that's one celebration I actually
won't be missing. A little ironic, if you think about it...
Nonetheless, I do strongly suggest you stick around for this week's crop of Grade-A artwork, traditional or not! So what say we get on with the whole shebang already?
Okay, so if you don't know by now, the featured artists here each receive the Golden Fefcaine Award:
...My little prestigious token of appreciation for anyone who created some amazing, DD-worthy artwork. Plus it has a delicious milk chocolate center! ANd the person who doesn't like milk chocolate...Is a damn communist. There, I said it.
Alright now, on with the show! Here's this week's Mini-DDs...

Dammit, *
OnionKnight, one of these days you'll just have to stop kicking ass! Do you realize how many other artists you've beaten out to get here due to your amazing cartoon skills? With winning Deviations such as
Ro Ro Fight da Powah that feature creative, lovable characters, a unique style, & some great detail all the way down to the lighting & expression, how do you expect other to compete with fun stuff like this? Oh well...
fetidecstacy by *
luminoire is just the kind of surreal artwork I always adore...Nice & dark yet a little cartoonish, very smooth & stylish, nice & freaky, & just plain beautiful & fun to look at, all the way from the bright face in the moon to the lantern that little guy gloomily swings. Simply put, this is one creative, creepy, yet cute eye-popper that you can't miss out on, so just fave it already!
Their day WILL come... by *
MikePMitchell...Okay, now this is just classic. A simple gag, but one executed so perfectly in every way that you can't help but grin at the sight of it. Everything from the nicely detailed skull to the surprisingly cute little roach in his outfit to the cursive word balloon delivering the little punchline...It just all adds up to create one funny & amazing piece of work that you simply must check out!

*
thweatted's "3HPD" strip is a wonderus little comic that's a brillaint throwback to the Saturday morning cartoons of our childhood...Even complete with commercial breaks!
3HPD Break is a fun little cartoon showcasing a cast of cool & unique character, all drawn so eye-pleasingly with an amazing style & some great colors, & the whole concept behind it...I can actually imagine the sugary cereal in my mouth as the toy commercials come on. Ah, memories...
:Winter Spell: Froslass by ~
endless-whispers is a simple piece of Pokemon fan art, but one that's just perfectly stunning...It just feels so hauntingly beautiful, which complements Froslass perfectly. And all of the little details from the night snowfall to the tundra to the glow of the spell...It all just works perfectly, creating one truly memorable piece of work. I can almost hear Madonna's "Frozen" playing in the background as well...

The PSP Wallpaper section here could always use a bit more lovin'...&
-Loco Triplets- by =
DarkJak delivers that kind of lovin' perfectly! Bright, colorful, cheerful, & a sweet mix of DJ's own extremely fun characters with one extremely fun PSP game, this is one cute little cartoon that would look great on your PSP...Or in you Favourites gallery, or possibly anywhere else, for that matter.
Whoop whoop by *
Pallala is a piece of funky cartoonish sci-fi work that's definitely something eye-popping & fun to look at. With some sweet designs, a cool style, some great colors, nice textures, & a whole unique & surreal feeling to it all, this is one beauty that you shouldn't miss out on. And it does indeed make for one kick-ass album cover as well...

Okay, how to put this...If you were to put an easter egg & an RPG character into a blender, & then used the resulting mixture as some sort of ink to draw a superbly-executed piece of anthro artwork, then
Prince of Pastels by ~
ChibiMaryn would probably be the result. As the title suggests, the amazing mix of colors is what really sells it here, but the sweet character design & nice style definitely don't hurt either. Truly a knockout indeed...

cabezadecondor says that out of everything he's done so far,
Psychedelic Bomb is one of his favorite works...& who am I to argue with him? Trippy, colorful, simple yet creative, fun, & a true joy to look at (with the little '70s rocker being the cherry on top), this is one sweet & slightly psychedlic beauty that you just can't afford to miss out on!
...& that's all for this week! If you have any comments, suggestions, etc., they'd be greatly appreciated! I hope you've all liked what I've featured this week, & I'll be back next week with nine more DD-worthy works of art! Sayanora until then! ^_^
