reports, October 22, 2007As the year draws to a close once more, we are often reminded of how fortunate we are. This is the best time to give a gift to a stranger.
This is the first annual Secret Buddies Gift Exchange. This is your opportunity to give a gift to another Deviant somewhere! This gift swap will work with Deviant Prints, and your Wishlist. In order to qualify to participate you must have a Wishlist with items you want in it, and be able to purchase through DeviantArt Prints.
Here's how it will work...
You will contact ~glidergem and give her your information (see below) and you will be partnered up with another deviant. Its all secret, so you wont know who gets your name (think of it like Secret Santa ). you will then go to that Deviant's page, and purchase a print or merchandise off their Wishlist for them. The Wishlist has their address in it and the rest is up to DeviantArt! You and your Gift partner should both send and receive a special gift.
Deadline to sign up is November 16th. If you enter after this cut off date you will not be included so get your name in quick.
Then you wait. By November 23rd, you should receive a note back with the information of the person you have been paired up with - someone from your own country (to lower shipping cost for you). If you don't receive the name of your partner by November 25th, please send ~glidergem a note with the Subject "I need a partner" and she'll send you the name of your partner.
After that you go to that Deviant's page and purchase their gift for them.
You will be given an order number by DeviantArt. When you are done with
your order, please keep a note of this order number. If your partner does not receive their gift due to any unforseen circumstances then we'll need it to track the order.
If you do not receive your gift please tell ~glidergem so she can follow up with your partner and check on the order number.
Before you participate make sure of a few things:
You can afford to purchase a gift for 10$ or more not including shipping costs. The minumum you can purchase for is $10, there is no maximum but remember, just because you spend $100 on your partner does not mean they will spend the same amount of money on you!
If you work in different currencies then check out [link] for the latest exchange rate.
You CAN send a gift. If you sign up and don't send a gift then you will be excluded from any future Gift Exchanges of this nature.
Your address on your DeviantArt account is up to date and accurate. Very important! You won't get your gift if its wrong!
