It's been a while!! In this edition of the dAmn Newsletter I'll be going over some of the basics regarding dAmn, the policies which apply there, and providing you with a general update on the network.

Featured Channels

We regularly review channels to receive the spotlight as a featured channel on dAmn. This round, we're delighted to present to you the following:

#damnLit -- The first official AR literature channel channel on deviantArt. It caters to the aspiring poet and prose writer, providing a positive and constructive community in which the writer can develop their skills through giving and receiving critique and stimulating literature discussion. There is minimal emphasis placed on social standing and privclasses, providing an environment that is writer-centric.

#traditional -- The official AR channel for all your traditional art needs, including drawing, painting, sculpture and graffiti.

#Seniors -- Ever wanted to find out more about the Senior members of the community? Make sure you stop by and say hello, they don't bite! You can often find critque events and discussions regarding Senior led projects such as `ArtistsForCharity, or the Senior Mentoring Project.

dAmn it!

dAmn it! is our exciting new project where you can post any entertaining quotes which you have encountered during your time on dAmn. The project is in it's early stages of development and we are counting on you to provide us with feedback on how we can improve it, so make sure you leave your feedback on this thread. dAmn Bugs and Bling

We are aware that there are a few bugs on dAmn, and that you are all eagerly anticipating any news about upgrades and fixes. Unfortunately, I can't give you any news on when this will happen, as there are much bigger developments going on in the community right now, which you can read about in the update on Project Sleek. Hang in there, good things come to those who wait!

Meantime, I'd like to remind you all of the most common bugs which people report to us via the Help Desk

Room deletions - You can't delete your own private room right now. If you no want to stop people from joining the room then please set -join to all relevant levels. We are aware of this bug and no further reports are required.

Billions of users on dAmn - Yes, it's just that awesome We are aware of this bug and no further reports are required, thanks!

Please make sure that you keep your browser (and relevant extensions) as up to date as possible. There are a number of firefox extensions out there which you can use to enhance your experience, and I would recommend that you at least try some of the following. Please note, we do not provide technical support for these extensions, and if you do require any further assistance, you should make contact with the deviant who wrote the code.



Quite possibly the most popular, and in my opinion the most useful user scripted extension for dAmn. Contains everything you need, including an away system, extended emote system using thumbnails and timestamps.



I know this one wasn't written specifically for dAmn, but I think you'll find this useful, especially when sharing thumbnails with other dAmn users.



This script adds the functionality to distinct deviants in chat by painting their names with different colours, all depending of the group you've added them in. You create a group, define its colour, add deviants to the group, and their names will change colour to the colour of the group they belong to. Nifty!

Of course, don't forget to use our own Official chat extension, dAmn xpcom, which should make your chat experience much smoother, as well as providing you with flashing tabs when someone highlights you on dAmn.

Upcoming Changes!

We've been listening to all your feedback regarding the rules in #devart in particular, and I can tell you that over the next 2 weeks, the MN@ and I will be rewriting the rules for the network. Watch this space for more information!

We've also added some weekly and monthly fun stats in #devart displaying the top chatters and most frequently used words! These fun stats are built and maintained by the very awesome @Tachy-on so go drop by and give him a hug for his hard work!
