Everything starts with the idea and this one formed a tremendeous wave in traditional community everyone has gotten extreemly excited about.
^
stigmatattoo and myself have started organising Traditional Art Day about one month prior to it occuring, and it involved an army of about 40 volunteers to get things rolling and ensuring everything works out. People have put their whole hearts into this event, and it actually has gotten whole community up on the feet and even more close together. The goal of the Traditional Art Day was to bring the spotlight to the Traditional Art Community on Deviant Art and to celebrate everything traditional. We have prepared a number of events to get the party started that was supposed to span just 24h however it has stretched to be a long weekend encompassing 19th, 20th and 21st of October.
Events:
24h of critique on #traditional
We had a number of dedicated traditionals, traditional appreciators, people just wanting to party and DA staff come and make the event sucess. We reviewed a number of works giving opinions on good points and things where one could improve. Everyone was pretty happy. We held a traditional trivia event where number of subscriptions were given out by DeviantArt, DeviantArt Members and Staff. Sometimes the spirits got even a bit carried away by discussing issues such as developing the style, art hostory and artists. We also had wet t-shirt contest, did some pole dancing, table top dancing, spank fest (sorry :devjesusiv you missed hot chicks again) playing funny buggers, and chatting in general. It was tons of fun, many of us got to showcase our work as well as work of other deviants and discuss it. Many thanks to people that made this event special and tons of fun including: `

cybergranny and many, many more... (sorry if i omitted anyone it was not on purpose) A lot of people have formed friendships there that I am sure will last for long time to come.
Submissions of traditional artwork:
We have asked whole community to try to submit at least one artwork on the Traditional Art Day and a tremendeous number of traditional artworks were submitted. Below you will find a selection of amazing gems that were submitted on the day. Please give those traditionals and many others lots of love:

Traditional Contest: Creative Spirit of Traditional Art was announced with lots of prizes and fun for everyone... please check the hotnews for details
[link] We are hoping everyone will join in the fun and submitt a traditional work, I believe this is wonderfull way for community to network and showcase their work, skill, tallent and imagination, their ability to conceive an idea and get it executed.
Traditional Art feature Journals were posted Sorry if i omitted anyone in this huge list below it was not intentional, i have tried to parse all notes and comments left on my journal, however sleep deprivation did on few occassions get better of me. What I liked the most about these whole community, traditional artists and non traditional artists got up on their feet and showcased one or more persons work, wrote why they liked them. A lot of the writeups have been straight from the bottom of the heart, I know I had pleasure reading each and every one journal entry that was given to me as a link, and through them have discovered and sometimes rediscovered so many wonderfull and amazing traditional artists. It not only gave the opportunity for everyone to showcase someone else and suprise them, but also to make some other deviants much happier and their days much better. While I was browsing the journals I was finding a lot of artists who were suprised and humbled by the kind words written about them and their work, and I am sure it has made their day much better. Those thoughts, are something that will be cherished forever in hearts.

We took over the news feed!!!!Well at least for 24h but it was fun and amazing seeing so many wonderfull traditional features. There have been features by style, by medium, featured artists, artists by region, artists by country, opinions on art, and many others. I know for a fact many of people posting the articles have spent days planning them, working them out, gathering all information, and finally writing them, making sure it all goes according to plan. There are many heartfelt writeups, and I am glad that all types of traditional artwork got featured. Here is the list of the articles I know about and I am hoping I have not omitted anyone If I have I am profoundly sorry:
