Taking the Mystery out of Daily Deviations
What is a DD?
The Daily Deviation is a daily staff feature chosen from the galleries here on deviantART.
A small assortment of submissions is chosen each day by a select group of staff members who wish to showcase an image which they found impressive or otherwise interesting enough to deserve being brought to the attention of the community-at-large.

Who selects them?
The selecting administrator may be a Gallery Director or other staff member who has been granted the necessary access to the special selection tools.
You can find who selects the DD's in the FAQ below, as well as how to contact the appropriate Gallery Director, is you feel like a certain genre is being overlooked.

How are they selected?
A Gallery Director or staff member selects deviations they like, or feel deserves attention. Many of the Daily Deviations are chosen by deviant suggestions. You may send your suggestions to the appropriate Gallery Director who handles the genre that your suggestion fits into. You can find out whom with the below FAQ.

Are there rules for Suggesting?
There is only ONE rule for suggesting a DD to a Gallery Director. Generally, we like the artist to not have had a Daily Deviation in the past 3 months prior to receiving another one. Even this rule can have exceptions.
A suggestion can have loads of favorites, or just a few. It can be a popular deviant or someone unknown. You can even suggest your own work if you feel like it.
How do you suggest?
Simple! Note the appropriate Gallery Director with your suggestion, with a subject of "DD Suggestion". Please include a link or thumb, and most GD's would like an explanation of why you think the piece is extraordinary.
Important note: Please only send your suggestion to one Gallery director at a time. Even though there are multiple GD's of some galleries, there is great confusion caused when you suggest the same piece to multiple gallery directors.

I seem to recall in the past giving up on suggesting a DD in a particular category because all the GDs either weren't accepting suggestions, or didn't want suggestions from that particular area of the gallery, or had complex rules.
Does this mean now that as long as the deviant hasn't recently had a DD, I can suggest to any relevant gallery director for that deviation as long as I follow rules like titling my note correctly etc?
