Tips & Tricks :: Portfolios & Job Interviews

=Princess-of-Shadows:iconPrincess-of-Shadows: reports, 2d 13h ago
You might even be one hell of a profesional, but if you don't SHOW it and PROVE it, how will everyone know? These facts are important not only when you are looking for a job, but in any situation when you wish to showcase your work. I decided to share a few guidelines that might help you give the best of yourself and help you be a better profesional.

Critique Perspective

We all desire to showcase what we have created even if it is not of the quality that pleases others.

What is a Citizen?

*DAPoliticalForum:iconDAPoliticalForum: reports, July 3
Do you do your share to make your school, your community, and the world a better place? Do you take responsibility for what goes on around you, participate in community service, help take care of the environment, be a good neighbor, treat other people with respect and dignity, follow the rules of your family, your school, and your society? Are you politically knowledgeable and active? What does it mean to you to be a citizen?

Art Theft, and Our Community

=akaCRASH:iconakaCRASH: reports, October 28, 2007
I've gone trudging along through our latest "New Art" uploads, and it seems that I can spot about two or three art thieves per hour as I do so.

Now, what I want to point out to our community, is that you could even be a target. We always say that it won't happen if we watermark our pieces, or spam nasty 'do-not-copy-steal-alter' text all over the piece. But, it does happen.

Ways to help prevent this, though, from spreading...is to help be involved in our community. Start keeping your eyes peeled to any new art, browse pages, and help stop the flow of deviantArt theft, as well as keep your eyes peeled to eBay, and other sites that use auctions, art, and the like to sell.

No, we can't take down every art thief, there's far too many it seems, but we can start making it known to them that they can't get away with stealing our artwork, our souls, our pride, and more importantly. Us.

Exactly, but that's why I'm saying we need to keep our eyes peeled to DO so.

More people involved and keeping an eye on things would probably do a lot to discourage thieves, or at least unearth and stop it before it progresses too far.
