Hello skinners and themers!

I'm proud to introduce you the Biggest Skins & Themes contest ever made. A magnificent chance for all of you to participate and win a lot of prizes!

MIMIC is gonna be the biggest contest ever made under the Skins & Themes gallery.

------------

The purpose of this contest is to create from scratch a functional Skin or a Packed Theme for certain type of applications (listed below) while trying to make them look as close as possible to the proposed object/ambient/concept. In other words, you have to mimic the look of the provided references.

Do you need examples? Here are a few:

Nintendo Wii - A WindowBlinds Skin


iPhone - A MirandaIM Skin


Wood - A packed theme for Windows


Chocolate - A packed guikit for OS X


As you can see, these works mimics the look of those products/textures and at the same time, these skins preserves the funcionallity of the application they were meant to be applied to.

R u l e s :

Your submissions will have to be uploaded in the "Mimic" category, under:

Contests & Projects -> contests -> 2007 -> mimic

On the submission, you will have to link to the reference picture you selected
Each deviant can submit more than 1 deviation
All the works developed for this contest have to be made from scratch
The skin/theme will have to be functional and downloadable for using, testing and judging purposes, not just a screenshot
Royalty Free Stock Pictures can be used as part of the final theme
A single deviant can win prizes in more than one category

D e a d l i n e :

The contest ends in December 14, all the submissions after this deadline won't qualify on the final judging. You can pick any of these

J u d g i n g :

Judging won't be based on Favourites or Comments. Many popular skinners & themers have a lot of fans and it wouldn't be fair for new artists on the deskmod scene. The selection of the 3 winners for each one of the 5 categories will be made by a pre-selected group of deviants, including members, suscribers, seniors and staff. The judging staff will be anounced in the next weeks.

Winners announcement:

After 10 days of judging, the 15 winners will be announced on December 24.
