Let's keep our perspective

`davincipoppalag:icondavincipoppalag: reports, 2d 17h ago
My friend posted this in his journal and I think it's important enough that the whole world should take a moment to reflect on it. Yes..the world lost a talented performer and artist in Michael Jackson..but there are many more tragic deaths occurring daily all over the world that go unnoticed. Please give these heroes your prayers and thanks too.

*DAPoliticalForum:iconDAPoliticalForum: reports, July 12

An Artists' Self-Respect

~Inexistences:iconInexistences: reports, July 14
The value of a favorite or a watch - how to use DeviantArt as a successful artist building community, and not a system for self-advertisement.

Perspective on Sight

~Skytrite:iconSkytrite: reports, July 15
Everyone has their own perspective, the way we percieve things is changable and uncertain. Yet, undeterringly we see things as good and bad, beautiful and ugly. I suppose this is my perspective on that kind of sight.

George Carlin on Religon

~TRegnier2795:iconTRegnier2795: reports, July 16
He's gone now, but George Carlin was a philosopher as much as a comedian. When he told a joke, he did it to make us think, and that is why he was a such a success: he told it like it is.

Here's lookin' at you, George.

Critic's Picks - 22nd - 28th October

~TheEmptyWhiteRoom:iconTheEmptyWhiteRoom: reports, October 29, 2007
Sorry that these are slightly late, but I've been busy

1.

UrlO - Scream by ~skarabokki is a phenominal piece of art. The colours, the sounds, the detail, the general freakiness simply add up to a brilliant final product.

2.

The butterfly effect by *valkirye is just a beautiful picture, and there isn't anything else that i want to say about it.

suggested by *franzlobo

3.

wattercolour lessons. by ~thatau is not particularly detailed or even very professiona, but the textures of the brushwork give it a really intense quality.

4.

Round The World Trip by =Nicoweb is a photomanip, but i like the compsotion and the play with scale. To me, this could easily be a photo, which means that it has to be good.

suggested by *Bex2007

5.

I AMsterdam by *y2jabba is a well composed, detailed and relevant street shot, and for this it certainly deserves an award...

suggested by ~rearviewconcept

Suggestions are welcome for next week!
