The comics segment of Project Educate is here!
To celebrate, we're hosting a competition of mini proportions! How do you enter? Read on!
How to make a mini-comic:
Stuff you'll need:
A pen
A pair of scissors
A piece of A4 paper
An internet connection that allows you to watch a YouTube video.
Got all that? Excellent! The original idea for how to make a mini-zine (or in our case, comic) is probably as old as the hills, but for a really great, somewhat quirky, training video in the art of making a mini-comic, please
head to this YouTube video and let 'SamProof' sort you out.
All done? Great! Now you know the basics of how to make a mini-comic! Read on for the rules, regs, and due date.
Rules and regulations:
- Entries must be made according to the method outlined in the video above
- You can enter as many times as you like
- You can use any materials you like; pen, watercolour, paint, markers, whatever!
- That's all!
Prizes:
Everyone likes a good prize, right? Well we're no exception:

1st place--One year dA subscription

2nd place--Three month dA subscription

3rd place--One month dA subscription
Entry date:
Entries are due on the
19th of November. That gives you two weeks plus a weekend to get your mini-comic rockin'.
Please submit your mini-comic as a deviation and note *
apocathary with a link. Because of the format, we suggest either taking a montage of photos of each page, or scanning each page and stitching it together in photoshop (with a photo of the whole thing as proof it really is a mini-comic).
At the end of the competition, all entries will be asked to also be exhibited on *
apocathary's external site (
Tooth Soup) as part of a continuing project to expose more people to comics art.
BUT WAIT!
Make sure you check out ^

I feel my brains, like a pear, to see if it is ripe; it will be exquisite by September.
