How Do You Submit Porn on dA? It's easy--

1. Don’t.

Porn should not be tolerated on an art site. The fact that it has been allowed to become as out of control as it has is a poor reflection on both the staff and the site itself.

It’s time deviantART – both staff AND members -- took a stand and stuck to its own policies regarding pornographic material by actually doing something about it.

It is not enough for staff to place the onus on customers by telling them to ‘report it’, without actively discouraging the submission of the content. It is not enough to merely point to the FAQ, without making sure people know that breaking policy brings serious consequences.

It is also not enough for members to complain about a gallery filled with pornography, without being willing to actively seek to have the pornography removed.

Too, the site has an obligation to discourage those predators who are using the site to channel younger members away and into REAL porn sites, as well as seeking contact with minor members.

Posting pornography IS NOT A RIGHT on dA. Too many people seem to think it is.

This situation desperately needs to change.



DEVIANTART POLICY ON PORN

The policies on devianART concerning pornographic content are clear. They are also in the FAQ. But in case you missed those, as so many of you obviously have, here they are:

[link] Is my deviation Mature Content?

By tagging your deviation as Mature Content you are in essence informing the deviantART browser that your submission contains material or subject matters which may be found to be offensive or upsetting by more sensitive viewers. Common subjects which are considered Mature Content are nudity, excessive violence and blood and gore.

Pornographic and other unacceptably sexual themes continue to be prohibited despite the presence of this tag as are certain other contents which have been judged unacceptable. Information concerning this is covered elsewhere in this FAQ

[link] Do you allow "Adult", explicit sexual or pornographic content on deviantART?

We do not allow the submission of "Adult" or pornographic materials to deviantART under any circumstances. Such material will be removed immediately as it comes to our attention.

[link] Why was my erotic literature removed?

Written submissions which place undue emphasis upon genitalia or which graphically describe sexual acts in detail will be classified by the deviantART administration as inappropriate material and subjected to immediate removal without prior warning.

Deviants who are found to repeatedly submit this material despite previous administrative removals may be subjected to a ban of a temporary or permanent nature depending on the exact circumstances and number of prior violations.

[link] You prohibit the submission of ' pornographic material'; what do you consider this to be?

When we mention ' pornographic content' in our policies we are specifically refering to specific subjects which we will clarify below.

We apologize if the descriptions below are slightly graphic.

The following contents are considered unacceptable for submission in either visual art or literature form and will be subjected to immediate removal without notice.

Masturbation (actual or implied).
Hands should not come into contact with genitalia in a manner which can be clearly interpreted as fondling or masturbation. Hands also should not be extended beneath clothing (such as pants or underwear) in a manner which suggests the same.

Sexual positions.
Subjects should not be positioned in a manner to suggest sexual penetration, genital to genital contact, genital to anal contact, oral to genital contact , oral to breast contact or oral to anal contact.

Sexual body fluids (actual or simulated).
There should be no depiction of semen or vaginal lubricants. In some cases we will also remove images depicting breast milk or menstrual blood.

Erections.
Male subjects should not be depicted with an erection.

Vaginal or Anal Spreading
Female subjects should not be depicted with their vagina 'spread' or opened in any fashion or by any means. Models of either sex should not be depicted with the anus spread or opened in a similar fashion.

Adult oriented (sexual) toys.
"Adult toys" consisting of dildos, strap-ons and vibrators are not allowed at all. Whips, chain, and bondage materials can be used providing they violate no other guideline. Objects of any kind should not be shown entering the vaginal or anal area either directly or indirectly nor should they be shown readied for such penetration.

Sadism and/or Masochism.
Self-mutilation and real-life harming is typically not allowed. Simulated wounding using makeup and other special effects can be allowed. Needlework, piercings, suspension and knife play may be allowed on a case-by-case basis. It is a very grey area and no absolutes will be given in regards to these fetishes.

Submissions which are judged to be in violation of these guidelines will be removed without prior warning and users who repeatedly submit such materials will be at great risk for receiving administrative punishment.

Also be aware that we prohibit providing an outside link to another website which provides access to the material described above.

What is the policy concerning images depicting minors?
Underage Individuals and Nudity
If you are under eighteen (18) years of age you cannot legally be depicted nude, partially nude, in your undergarments, or in an erotic or other sexually driven manner in any deviation or scrapbook submission.

The following is a listing of situations which are prohibited;

1. Minors depicted without clothing, front view, back view, or side view, with genitalia and/or breasts visible or not.

2. Minors depicted in under garments or lingerie.

3. Minors depicted in an S&M or ‘Bondage’ situation.

4. Minors depicted in a sexual or 'alluring' pose (dressed or undressed).

5. Minors in the possession of ‘adult’ sexual toys.

6. No use of: transparent clothes, blurring of nude areas, or the use of “blots” or “Censored” wording or props to cover areas that are otherwise not clothed.

7. Gender that is questionable on an image with an exposed chest will be removed from the gallery at the discretion of the reviewing administrator

8. No Child Nudity: Images of children or characters resembling children (including teens, pre adolescent, child like fairies and other imaginary figures) resembling, or stongly resembling, under 18 years of age displayed in erotic, seductive, provocative poses or context.

9. No depictions of fictional young humanoid characters/children giving the appearance of being under the age of 18 displayed in erotic, seductive, provocative poses or context.

10. Since age is difficult to identify with 3D modeled images and certain art styles (such as Anime), this will be at the discretion of the reviewing administrator.

11. Babies in diapers will be allowed. Toddlers and younger children may be held to the restrictions stated above as judged on a case-by-case basis.

12. Fictional underage characters taken from popular television series, movies, or other sources portrayed as an "adult" in order to utilize one of these prohibited themes will be subjected to close scrutiny by staff. Such claims will be considered void in any case where the staff deems that significant and telling changes of the original underage character design were not attempted or that such efforts were inadequate.


Any submission found to depict any of this prohibited content will be removed immediately and without notice.

The rules regarding this matter apply equally to all forms of submissions and they apply equally to depictions of 'real life' persons as well as fictional characters
