Printmaking Series Two - Intaglio Printing II

^stigmatattoo:iconstigmatattoo: reports, July 12
Printmaking produces images with visual qualities that are very different from those obtained through drawing or painting directly, and each technique adds its own peculiarities to the way each piece is conceived. However, with its odd and alchemical combinations of unusual materials, specific tools and enormous machines, Printmaking is often a strange and foreign territory even for artists accustomed to studio work on other disciplines.

Supporting Young Artists

~Amethyst1:iconAmethyst1: reports, November 3, 2007
Hi there,
This is to introduce a club (to the DA community for those who are interested) that I have recently started up called Support Young Artists. I realized that young artists just aren't getting the recognition and/or encouragement that they deserve, after all, the great artists of this world had to start off somewhere, and if it wasn't at stick figures, or disproportioned people then they must be absolute art geniuses. C'mon, I bet even Leonardo Da Vinci didn't pick up a paintbrush at two years old and paint a portrait similar to Mona Lisa, so I hope you can see where I am coming from!
I also realize that a lot of young artists are getting onto DeviantArt and seeing other peoples great works of art, and instead of feeling inspired, they are putting themselves down and saying that they could never be like that and then they just give up.

This is where we come in. What we are trying to do is support these great young artists, giving them help and encouragement wherever we can. And at the moment we would really like some donations!

A sub would be great, as would art request donations (from more experienced artists) as we will be having regular competitions and would really appreciate having prizes that are worth winning!

We would also love it if people would help us collect tutorial links, as they will help the young artists greatly.

We need to get the word out there to other young artists that we are here for them and want to help them with the development of their art into the future. Many of the members we have already have really appreciate us being there and have said so.

If you wish to go and check us out the click the link: ~supportyoungartists

We accept young artists - and older more experienced artists if they wish to help us support the young artists.

Thanks,
MJ (the founder)

I've witnessed complete silence many times, and it's not silent at all. It's a ringing in your ears that keeps telling you that you're alone.
