Taking a spin on some modern fairy tales, ~miorats has an interesting way of rendering these images. The characters this artist uses tend to be semi-cartoonish, but with some very non-cartoonish content.

*furkel shows that sometimes, it's good to just be silly. The comics in this gallery are drawn in a childlike way, making them even better to look at - it's easy to remember that you're not to take them seriously. They're creative and always funny. The humor does not diminish as time goes by... quite the opposite! These things seem to get funnier and wackier as the artist develops - and for that, I feel *furkel is a perfect candidate for this month's feature.

It is artists like ~NostalgiaOfMud that are slowly making me understand what visual poetry can be. Before, I used to see it as slapping text onto a pretty picture, but this gallery has a collection of carefully chosen images that connect to the writing which is in fact the art form. What I like is how consistent in quality this gallery is, and ~NostalgiaOfMud has a gallery someone should be very proud of!

Knowing that each word comes from either an experience in the past or deep within his heart, some find it confusing, but it really only needs to be thought through (also a good thing)--writing that gets the reader to think. --*xxodorFxx

When *xxodorFxx suggested that I feature *nicholasvoselic, one of his deviations in particular, Succumb, caught my eye. Written as prose, it reads like poetry. It is evocative and sexual, but not crude or pornographic. It is a testament to the written word because it gains musicality when spoken aloud. --*batousaijin

~PaperRequiem is one of those young writers whose talented work is already beginning to pop up here and there, and for good reason. His work is full of imagination, and originality, containing a whole variety of meanings and stories. There are many people on DeviantArt who attempt to write about romance and love, but fail miserably because they repeat old ideas. Ryan is definitely someone who can take old concepts and make them new again. My favorite of his poems, the ones I’ve featured here, are prime examples of his talent. They’re lovely, descriptive, and original, a good pick for any feature.

Incredible. That's one of very few words I can find that do justice to the leatherwork in ~Azmal's gallery. The leather armor is intricate in design, with very close attention paid to each and every detail, and its surprisingly-practical function is evident in full-body models of each piece. This is the work of a true artisan.

While his new pieces of industrial-based jewelry really catch my eye, it's ~back2root's back catalog of woodworking that is the reason he lands here.
