Director of Artist Relations


Hello!

The purpose of Artist Relations is to strengthen the community spirit as well as network with fellow artists so that we may bring outside opportunities to you, and help you to hone your skills. The Gallery Directors are the first people you should go to regarding your galleries. They are the people you need to make gallery suggestions to, and ask questions about your specific genre, or seek knowledge from. They also act as your lifeline to the administration. They are here to support and listen, and I can tell you we've got incredibly talented, devoted and passionate people on this team, so get to know them!

News

Firstly.. before we begin. No.. you cannot be removed from a mailing list, this is not spam, and no amount of cursing or calling me names will make it possible for me to stop you from receiving this newsletter. This is a community newsletter, written by community members, for community members and it's part of the free perks you get here at dA. What I will say, is that if you continue to berate me with not very nice notes calling me not very nice names.. I will find a way to send them to you in duplicate just because Honestly, if you really don't care what's going on in the community, simply remove the notice from your message center and go on with your life. Bear in mind that we tend to announce important changes to the site, it's functionality, policy etc.. and failure to read the information provided doesn't count as a valid excuse should you violate something in the future.

The strains of real life claim two more as `lyastri and `MissShyly leave the AR team. Please thank them for their contributions and wish them well.

I will be bringing on new gallery directors to fill the empty slots however, bear with me as we're in a very busy period right now and I don't want to choose blindly The other team members will be trying to feature art via DD's for the directorless galleries, so read the updates to find out who is doing what in the interim.

Project Educate Updates and News

It's Comics Week! for project educate. Get involved and learn something new

OMG Suggesting yourself for a daily deviation??? say it ain't so Moonbeam13! Yes.. yes it's so and really I don't see the giant issue. I've heard the complaints and the arguments against it but I don't agree. This is the last of what I coin the 'over the top, unnecessary, self imposed rules for daily deviations' that have been tossed. We try not to DD anyone if they've received one in the last 3 months, we're human, sometimes it happens anyways. However, self suggesting, self-promoting, is a huge part of making it as an artist, why we wouldn't allow that here as well, seems silly to me. Read the article, leave your opinion if you like, but I stand by my thoughts on this one.

I'm still streamlining that Skins and Themes gallery. I unfortunately was very busy and it fell to the side but I'm back on the horse and treading through!

Holidays are coming.. which means.. STUFF IS COMING! and that's all I'm saying

*TranslationChain is a new group I find really interesting, you should check them out!

I think =Sino has a great idea here and we should see where this can go. We need a stamp and some people who are interested to get involved and do something similar. Let's start a critiquing frenzy. If you make a stamp or decide you want to participate, please note me so I can watch it unfold!

Please help out my team by sending your daily deviation suggestions to one person only. There is great confusion caused when you suggest the same piece to multiple gallery directors. We appreciate it
