For our November feature, *
Manip-Equips is pleased to present *
H-D-STOCK, definitely one of the up-and-coming stock artists on DA in recent times.
----------------
First, the obligatory question: Why? What were your reasons for creating a stock account?
i always had trouble finding the stock that i wanted, especially when i was a beginner, mixing pics and all was very difficult for me, now i have more practice and i always start making backgrounds when i make my manips and i thought i could make some people live's easier by sharing them and i started making more and more, i think is really fun. taking pics is fun also, i love everything that involves creativity.
When I say "quidnunc", you say...
quidwhat????
o.O
Within the DA stock galleries, what sort of stock images or themes are your favourites? (Feel free to name names - we're all about the resources here at *Manip-Equips.)

Which of your own stock have you had the most fun creating? Which are your favourites?
hmm, i guess when i take the pics is when i have more fun

my fav stocks would be...
Pink or Purple?
...pink!
What sort of art do you think your stock is geared towards? For example, dark gothic, fairytale fantasy, etc.
i have them all, hahahaha, i tried to create an only style but i can't, i just like them all, i don't have a favourite one, i try to give as many options as possible ^^
What would be your best three tips (after large resolution and good lighting) for would-be stock artists?
to only submit photos that u think people can actually use, i've seen so many "stock" pics around DA that just cannot be used, chopped heads, small resolutions, pixelated ones, awful light or almost in darkness shots. stock doesn't mean "half-good photo" so
-> submit something inspiring, something that you would like to use yourself, don't play to much with the light, that's for the manipulators to do, it's always easier to work with good white light (i've seen stocks with red or orange light o.O) day light is the best light.
-> the camera is very important too, if it's digital, use more than 5 megapixels, if your going to scan your pics, use more than 300dpi (scan resolution "dots per inch") resolution IS important.
-> try not to submit b/w pics, it's easier to convert rgb to grayscale than greyscale to rgb o.O (color to black and white than black and white to color) and if your familar with this, rgb is way better than cmyk. if you're not... don't worry, usually all pics are in rgb from the beginning.
A lot of people who are fans of stock aren't necessarily aware of the fact that most of our stockists have their own art accounts as well. You've got an art account (~my-dark-desire) filled with beautiful work of your own - many of which are available as prints. What sort of stock do you look for when making your own art?
thank you very much, i look for:
stock with good quality, high resolution i mean, that's the most important thing. i usually don't like very much to work with stock that has been used way too many times before, i always try to find new good stockers and almost unknown stock pics, not always possible of course. i look for creative stock too, not the usual poses or places, something that helps me creating a theme or dream like situation. maybe that's why so many of my backgrounds or manips are that unusual hahahaha.
Apart from not being properly credited, what would be your top two pet hates when it comes to people using your stock?
hmm, i'd say when they don't make anything significative to my stock, when they just add a frame or something like that and they take all the credit, or when they say the don't like their own manips, it just make me sad, isn't my stock good enough? or if u don't like it, why did u use it anyway?
Croutons or bacon bits?
croutons
What inspires you to keep making stock. What really drives your motivation?
when people tells me that my stock is good, when it helps them to create and get inspired.
What would you like to see more of in deviantART's stock galleries?
more quality stock, i'd love to see more people excited in making it, wich is shown in their galleries. more creativity and originality, not the usual pics, not the usual dresses, skirts, forests, etc. and more male stock.
And lastly, any hints on any future stock images from *H-D-STOCK?
hmm, i will be submitting lot's of textures, i want to create some really good ones using several resources, more water ( i love water hahaha, can't u tell? ) seas, lakes, etc. and maybe some self pics, i just got a very lovely pair of black wings
