reports, November 5, 2007I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you all, my friends here at deviantART, how much I appreciate the support you've given me.
I have been used to thinking of myself as a person who did not need the affirmation of others, a hermit, a social outcast who did not care about the opinion of other people. I have spent long years painting at home, with no audience but my loving wife.
However, in the few months in which I have been a member of this artistic community, I have received such encouragement for my efforts, efforts which until recently had been almost completely unrewarded (I do sell the occasional thing, though.) Very much do I enjoy the company of an international community, one that is not bound to the regional conformity of the culture in which I live. The world seems larger to me now.
I value your thoughts, and the honest responses that I have had the pleasure to enjoy on this website. Being a member of this like-minded collection of creative souls has re-invigorated my artistic urges, I'm getting some momentum going with my art, and I do believe I'm improving.
Again, thank you all!
