Printmaking Series Two - Intaglio Printing II

^stigmatattoo:iconstigmatattoo: reports, July 12
Printmaking produces images with visual qualities that are very different from those obtained through drawing or painting directly, and each technique adds its own peculiarities to the way each piece is conceived. However, with its odd and alchemical combinations of unusual materials, specific tools and enormous machines, Printmaking is often a strange and foreign territory even for artists accustomed to studio work on other disciplines.

Wonderful Watercolors

Watercolor art can be hard to find on DA, since the medium lacks its own designated section. Here’s a sampling of some of the best watercolors I’ve found on this site.

The Underground

`Aeires:iconAeires: reports, November 6, 2007
There are no formulas. There are no restrictions to get bogged down with.

This is only a collection of artists whose work deserves more credit than it's getting. This is the Underground.

Those aren't photographs, those are traditional drawings, painstakingly created with skill and precision. Her work is nothing short of incredible, but if you were to visit her page, you'd be left with amazement at how such a talented artist has gone so unnoticed.

Blink and you'll probably miss his art, it gets lost in the thousands of images submitted each day. Not today though, his talent is far too great to let slip by, it's time to showcase his work. Digital art gone mad, his vision equals his talent, off the charts.

I must shamefully admit, I had never heard of this artist before she was suggested to me. Her gallery grabbed my attention immediately, such a wonderful collection of black and white work, full of rich details. She's been at DA for just under four years but barely gets noticed. Hopefully that will start to change, her gallery is incredible.

Beautiful space and terrain art, it makes me want to pursue that medium more myself. Great use of color and lighting, she blends a nice balance in her work. She has a gallery that increases with talent the more she wields her craft, what world she dreams up next is left to be seen.

Breathtaking scenery photographs, the kind that leaves you with a peaceful feeling when you take it all in. She's been a deviant since the early days, but even the first ones can get overlooked by the sheer volume of art that gets submitted. If you dream of beautiful places to visit, visit her gallery as well.

If you know of a talented artist that gets overshadowed in the size of this site, send me a note with their page. I still have a few artists that weren't able to be featured in this issue, I'd like to keep this going and will do so as long as the support and suggestions keep coming in. Doesn't matter how you know them, or what relationship they have with you, if you want to help, please make the suggestion.

Big thanks to *dbjs, `mirrorkills, =danzr4ever, =onesixone, =Eynowd for helping make this happen.

It's not about numbers or statistics, it's just about helping artists get some well deserved attention. By the community, for the community, and hopefully well received by the community.
