I Am A Child

reports, 16h 24m agoMy little girl is so magical. With a smile she can brighten my world. The glow in her eyes when she tells one of her stories melts away all of the day's problems and concerns. For me, having a child and being able to participate in her life, watch her grow and absorb the wonders of the world, completes me as a human being.
For my latest journal feature I am presenting a visual essay on children -- works by DA artists that beg to ask the question, "Is there anything more pure, more magical than a child?" Breaking up the photos are lyrics from Neil Young's brilliant song about children, "I Am A Child." If you want to listen to Neil's song while viewing the essay, right click on [link]

But, each way, they are fascinating, and this reflects in some very cool art, in which it seems we try to express how important they are or they have become in our present life.
Ranging from deeply and thought-provoking works to ironic ones, from original close-ups to colorful compositions, here they are. Pills. Chemicals. Sometimes a vivid, visual narration of a noble, difficult fight. Often used to feel better, sometimes used to fly away.
Let's take some together.
