Be Someone's Critical Friend!

^GeneratingHype:iconGeneratingHype: reports, May 2
The first step in learning how to revise is learning how to be a critical friend to someone else. The ultimate goal for revision is to make you a critical reader of your own writing. This month, with focused, research-based activities and friendly advice, we're going to try to teach you how to take on both these roles--and show you how acquiring these skills can help make you a better reader and writer in the future.

HotLits- The First!

`Beccalicious:iconBeccalicious: reports, Nov 9, 2007
‘HotLits’ is a new weekly news article produced by me (*Beccalicious ). This is an article where I’ll be featuring some of the hottest literature that has been submitted over the last seven days on deviantART.

I have always admired how other art communities within DA have always supported their fellow members by writing these kinds of feature articles. (One of the best examples being `baKIN’s ‘Get Acknowledg3d’ for digital delights). Aside from monthly literature features from brilliant communities such as *WordCount, we again find that the non-visual of art falter a little behind.

After asking questions through a series of polls on my own journal, I questioned why nobody in Literature ever wrote these feature articles? My conclusion was simple- stop asking everyone else and start doing one yourself! Therefore ‘HotLits’ has been born.

Each week I shall feature a collection of HotLits. These are pieces of literature that have been posted in the last seven days*, and have something in them that sparkles. This first article consists of HotLits only chosen by me, but in future editions, I will love to be noted some recommendations.

Literature is just as sexy and just as powerful as visual art forms. It doesn’t matter what your own style and preference of art is- I encourage you all to try and read a HotLit! You may be surprised.

So without further ado, here are the very first selection of HotLits...

I hope you’ve enjoyed this small collection and embark a journey to discover more pieces of literature that you’ll be enchanted by! If you see a piece of literature you like, feel free to note me and suggest it for a HotLit too!

Thank you for reading,

*Beccalicious

*Sometimes there is an overlap; it’s more like 10 days really :)
