The Writers Meow celebrates one year mark today!

We want to say thank you to all of our awesome members! You are the reason for this club. When , & first put this club together, we had no idea how fast it would grow or how much it would come to mean to us!!

Recently we had a poll inquiring if the club had assisted members in any way, and here are some of their wonderful responses:

“I've had many great people read my work and talk to me about it. The critique isn't only in discussing how it's written, but the content as well. I owe it to the few people who took the time to talk about my work for the massive strides I've taken in writing. I'm currently waiting on the publication of one of my poems, and that's much sooner than I'd have ever expected something like that to happen.”



“Being a part of this club has also made me a lot more confident as a writer and I think that shows in my poetry. The other great thing is that I get to read a whole variety of different writing that I might not read if I wasn’t a part of the club. And lastly, this club makes me want to improve even more as a writer in the future and has increased my love of poetry and all forms of literature.”



“I get to see how everyone writes compared to me and see if my songs reach the standard of great lyrics or not.”



“I believe that the best way to become a good writer is to do two things: Read and Write... The Writer's Meow allows me to read through other people's work, critiquing (which allows me to prevent myself from making the same mistakes) and admiring (which allows me to see what good poetry or prose looks like, and what I can do to improve my own writing)...”



“But already, I can see the help my words have had upon others. I can feel the nudge of encouragement upon me.”



“I've had numerous suggestions from club members that have helped me to improve parts of certain pieces.”
