Hip Hop Day - 12.nov.
A culture that doesn't have sex, race, age, religion, political view, sexual orientation, country or leader. A culture that believes and sustains equal rights and treatment for everyone, arts, knowledge, freedom of speech and expression and self elevation through practice. A culture that, over 30 years of existence, has educated and disciplined youngsters and made a mark ON society and IN society as well. A culture that is free, available and there for everyone to embrace it. Something that lives thru dance, music, paint and is the spirit of thousands and thousands human ways of expression. You either feel and understand it or you don't. It's not what MTV or some teenage magazine says it is... it ain't the bling, it ain't the goat teeth, it ain't pimps, it ain't the booty girls, it ain't expensive clothes and drinks and sure ain't the money ! It's the DJ, it's the MC, it's the bboy or bgirl, it's the graff writer, it's the hip hop head, it's the beatboxer, it's the biker, it's the skater, it's the baller it's the backpacker, it's the sisters, it's the brothers, it's the king and queens, it's Style Wars, it's Wildstyle, it's Beat Street, it's YOU and everything you imagine, consider, appreciate, love and defend and everything around you that you can transform and express in dance, beats, rhymes and letters.
It's something that begins with
"LOVE PEACE and having FUN" and ends with HIP HOP !
I tried to gather some work around DA that captures the basic four elements of hip hop (graffiti, dj-ing, mc-ing, and bboy-ing) and selected the ones that I consider as the feeling and look of hip hop.
1.Graffiti
2.Bboy-ing
