ALICE FANS OF THE WORLD, UNITE!

So here’s the deal – I have toyed with the story of Alice myself for a while now. I’ve seen some stellar examples of other artists’ interpretations around the traps and have heard people longing for an excuse to try their hand at their own take on her crazy ways.

Well, here is your chance.

I want to see it. I want to see YOUR interpretation of Alice in Wonderland, however fantastical or realistic as you want to make it. So long as you make it alllll yours. Disney can go itself.
[Unless of course you love the Disney version, in which case, go nuts ]

The competition is open to EVERYONE – Photographers, Painters, Drawers, Digital Artists, Sculptors, Vectors, you NAME it! I want to see examples from across the board, and I want you guys to have FUN with it too!

Naturally, since I am the instigator on this one, I should shoulder the responsibility for judging it too. I might ask an opinion from time to time, but the final decision will rest with me and me alone.

So, with that said, I want to see your best example – one, count them, ONE piece of artwork that encapsulates your take on our over-curious selfish little blonde heroine. Submit them then send me a note with the thumbnail or link back to the work.

DEADLINE

You have from now until Midnight on December 31st – yes, New Year’s Eve 2007 people – to get the work to me. Judging will take place over the following week, and the Winners will be announced shortly afterwards.

And what do you get for all your efforts you ask?

Well naturally, I wouldn’t expect you guys to do this just for the hell of it, even though I hope there are some of you out there like me who would

FIRST PRIZE
The Winner will receive ONE FULL YEAR’S paid subscription to deviantART, as well as 3 hand-signed 8x10 prints, one of each of the following works from my own Alice inspired series, Jabberwocky:



SECOND PRIZE
The Second Place Winner will receive a SIX [6] MONTH paid subscription, as well as 1 hand-signed 8x10 print of their choice from the three offered works.

THIRD PRIZE
The Third Place Winner will receive a THREE [3] MONTH paid subscription.

JUDGE’S MERIT PRIZE
This is a secret prize to be awarded to the artwork that, whilst not necessarily being the best artistic example of Alice, deserves special recognition.

I MUST clearly state that you are ONLY allowed to submit your own artwork for judging.
NO DISNEY SCREEN-CAPTURES, COPIED OR TRACED TENNIEL WORKS OR SIMILAR WILL BE ACCEPTED!
And if you are stupid enough to submit ripped artwork stolen from other Deviants, Admin will be notified, and may Heaven help you by the time I’m through with you.

I will be displaying the entries in my journal as they come to me and until the competition ends, because its about damn time someone did some Uber Alice-pimping
