Traditional introduction aside, I’m going to jump right into this. I apologize if this article goes all over the place, I tend to do that when I’m angry.

The new mature content filter is beyond absurd.

I took comfort in the thought that DA was a place I could come and be treated as an adult as much as anyone else. There is absolutely no reason to block me from viewing whatever art form I choose. I find it ridiculous that I’m still plenty capable of submitting art with a mature content tag, but I’m unable to view it. I cannot accept this discrimination.

I feel wronged in being restricted to happy baby bunnies frolicking through the wood.

I’ve said this many times, but of course it has yet to register. Age is a number, nothing more. I am perfectly mature enough to see any part of the body, or hear any piece of language that is considered“taboo” or not. The ONLY reason these things have been labeled as “taboo” is because of how society views them.

As far as I know, we are all participating in a website with the name of “DeviantArt.com.” Need I remind you of the definition of deviant?

“Deviant-diverging sharply from a customary or traditional norm or accepted standard, or displaying sharply divergent behavior. “

It seems that we have strayed from out original purpose, and are now slowly becoming herded into a stable of repression like pathetic sheep. We are becoming beings that are accepted by the mindless society that is slowly destroying the human race.

Perhaps we should change the name to “DullMindlessInnocence.com,” it seems more fitting.

I have nothing left to say. I am saddened by the fact that we have come to restricting our freedom. I can only hope that we are not restricted from viewing anything that has negative political or religious ideals associated with it.

I refuse to say “Heil Hitler,” or something of that nature, as I feel I am now expected to do these days. I think I’ll go with a simple kick in the ass and a “fuck you.”

Should I mark this article as being mature content, and inappropriate for the teenage eyes because of that?
