The holidays on Deviantart!

As the year winds down again, it seems like there is not enough time in the day to do all the things that’s must be done. Many cultures around the world have holidays at this time of year. The very obvious one is Christmas. I know that Christmas is often criticized but this year, let the deviants take over the holidays! Who better to take something and give it a fun and creative spin but the members of the largest, most successful creative community in the world?
The holidays around the world suffer at the hands of commercialism and greed (not only from buisnesses but all those people that want ipods instead of home made presents). Lets put a positive spin on it and make this the season of art! We have a pile of events, and contests, not only Christmas related, but even some events for the grinches out there. There are charities to help the unfortunate, contests to win prizes and educational projects. As these projects are launched I will update this journal, and include the links on the lists below! The launch dates are beside each contest!

I am a firm believer that you have to make your own happiness, and the bitching and moaning is all about preventable things
Money - make gifts, its less superficial anyways. This society is too materialistic. we are artists. Gifts are in our blood. ( myself, this year, I have a 0$ shopping budget, and i am still excited. I am making a film for xmas)
Crowds - shop earlier... duh... LOL
Commercialism - is a beast that needs to be fed. Dont feed into it and it wont affect you.
all thigs with easy solutions that have to come from inside

nothing is preventing you from doing art for contests or making donation cards or stockings - no matter if you celebrate or not.
your misery is self inflicted, and I apologize for sounding harsh, but you dont have my sypathies.
There is no reason that someone elses joy should cause someone else distress or self pity.
Life should be celebrated.
