Keelerleah's Art contest


Hello all,
Wow, does the year fly. I can’t believe it is a year since I signed up to DeviantART. This past year I have come to know some amazing people and extraordinary artists. This site truly is a eye-opener for upcoming artists. To celebrate this one year anniversary I have decided to hold a contest, and yes one prize is a free commissioned work.

The Contest

Well I thought about this for a long time until I came up with a contest theme/idea. For this contest you have to draw/paint (sorry I won’t accept 3D renderings/photo manipulation / photography/ writing as this is strictly a drawing contest) a character/scene or anything that your mind comes up with. The only thing is that you have to give it a title that I used for one of my own works (my gallery can be seen here -> [link] )

For example if you picked “Lost in a storm” it would obviously have to be about someone lost in a storm. If you picked one like “Brothers” well as long as the title fits it could be almost anything (animal brothers, humans etc). I have decided to do it this way to leave more of a choice for what you will actually draw. I am leaving it open to let your imagination run free.


Rules

-This is strictly a art drawing/painting contest, so no written, 3D generated, photography, photo manipulation etc. I do apologize for limiting it, but I really don't know all that much about all that and don't feel I can judge it fairly.

-I will happily accept digital and traditional paintings, pencil drawings, inks, etc.

-It must be a new picture drawn especially for this contest.

-You must put a link to my page in the artists comments telling its for my contest.

-Please note me with the link to your deviation with the title ‘Contest 1’ and I will add you to the list that will appear in my journal with the contest details --> [link]

-No more then 2 entries per-person.

-No mature rated art.

-There is no limit on titles, ie more then one person can choose the same title.



Prizes:
1st place- will get a free commissioned picture done by me (worth approximately $100.00) and a feature in my journal (front page)
-personalized journal CSS from *Kanuka76

2nd place- will get a free 8.5x11 signed print (directly from me and worth approximately $20.00) of your choice (from my gallery) and a feature in my journal (front page)
-a print of your choice from *Kanuka76's gallery

3rd place- A feature in my journal (front page)
-features for one month in *Kanuka76s journal

*journal features are expected to be left up for a month or more, depending on when I write a new journal.

Deadline

Deadline will be February 1, 2008
Judging will be done by me, my family and personal friends (on a voting system).
