View the most recent feature here, as well a list of all the previous poems featured by TFP. If you like what you see, than devwatch the account because we feature a new one every week! dA Gave Thanks!

^GeneratingHype:iconGeneratingHype: reports, November 22, 2007
First and foremost, in case you've missed it, =stormyblueyz received a Daily Deviation for this beautiful, honest, and heartfelt entry:

Thank You, deviantART

'Tis the season to give thanks, and I believe =stormyblueyz captured the thoughts and feelings of many of us who've been touched by this community in some way.

And Now, the Winners:

:star: No entry made me laugh quite as hard as ~sammehsweet's letter, In lieu of a Subpoena. Unapologetic, over-the-top, and incredibly sardonic, it brought me back to those crazy college days and reminded me that formality need not be the serious occasion we all take it for.

:trophy:

Congratulations, ~sammehsweet! You have earned a 3-month subscription (which can be donated), a print valued up to $15 USD by the lovely $chix0r, and a journal feature from *BerylAlexandros.

:star: There were plenty of spectacular entries directed towards a parent (or parents), but these were particularly powerful, whether for their message, their approach, or both:

:pointr: The Little Clay Ball Called Me by ~lpowell

For its amazing and insightful metaphors, as well as its truth, this is something to read.

:pointr: Dearest Daddy by ~hollyhuney

Our parents aren't perfect, but neither are we.

:pointr: Dear Mom by *kelingking2

Because sometimes the greatest thing we can thank our parents for is letting us go.

:pointr: Blood is thinner by ~El-Auria

Sometimes the worst experiences make the best ones so much sweeter.

Each of these entries will receive a *WordCount feature, and each artist will receive a journal feature by `GeneratingHype and their choice of a 1-month subscription, a dA Keychain or a dA Sticker Pack.

:pointr: However, there was a letter that struck a chord and blew me away for its absolute sincerity and its unabashed, courageous look at the truth. ~MurakisSlave's letter, Dear Momma, left me shuddering and compelled me to call my mother. Sometimes the greatest show of thanks is borne in an apology.

:trophy:

Congratulations, ~MurakisSlave! You have earned a 3-month subscription (which can be donated), a print valued up to $15 USD by the lovely $chix0r, and a journal feature from *BerylAlexandros.

:star: Like our parents, our loved ones can also evoke a powerful and overwhelming gratitude. These entries were unique, beautiful, and believable:

:pointr: Thank You Lovely by =DarthLukan

It's never easy to thank someone simply for loving you, is it?

:pointr: To Ashley by =projectvxn

Thank you for staying, for forgiving, for--giving.

:pointr: Dear Liz by *DraconicDreams

A person's friendship is often the greatest gift they can give.

Each of these entries will receive a *WordCount feature, and each artist will receive a journal feature by `GeneratingHype and their choice of a 1-month subscription, a dA Keychain or a dA Sticker Pack.

:star: And last, but certainly not least, we have the letter that reminds us that life is, ultimately, worth it. Plenty of letters tried to thank concepts or groups or the entire world, but only ~Ugasaiki's letter, And thanks for all the fish, handled it with the proper balance of sarcasm and appreciation.

:trophy:

Congratulations, ~Ugasaiki! You have earned a 3-month subscription (which can be donated) and a print valued up to $15 USD by the lovely $chix0r, and a journal feature from *BerylAlexandros.

:star: But wait! There was a letter, brilliant in its own right, that may have jumped the gun a bit. ~deZtornmind earns a special recognition for his entry, Letter to Santa, From Johnny. Humorous and certainly one to kick off the season, this letter is definitely worth a read!

:trophy:

Congratulations, ~deZtornmind! You've earned a 1-month subscription and journal feature from `Beccalicious, and you've also won a position as an Honorary Judge for `GeneratingHype's soon-to-be-announced Christmas contest.

:boogie: This is just to take a moment to recognize some other wonderful entries:

:pointr: *poprocksandcharlotte's new spin on an old twist, The Art of the Break Up, made it into `Beccalicious's Hot Lits 2!

:pointr: It wouldn't be a very successful "Thank You!" contest if someone out there didn't take the time to thank the Big Guy. *taintedbliss handles it beautifully in To my heavenly father.

For a list of all the entries, kindly check this link.

Please contact `GeneratingHype about your prizes.

I am very very surprised and excited in equal parts that my letter got a position!

Thank you very much for the opportunity and the competition! I have to say the thing that had me most pleased was that I made you laugh!
