I am going to be running a competition to raise money for Cancer Research UK. I'm sure many of you have had your family's lives touched by the disease in some way - I know I have. So I want to give back to the charity that helps combat cancer - and I need your help!

How do I enter?

I would like you to draw me a picture using an oekaki applet - that's PaintBBS, OekakiBBS or ShiPainter. It can be any size you like, and what's more, you can draw anything you like, as long as it's not adult-themed (as this journal will be viewable to those of all ages). If you draw something related to the competition itself, however, that would be fantastic!

If you don't know what Oekaki is, it's a free Java applet that runs in your browser. If you want to give it a go, check out [link] and [link] for examples!

So...what's in it for me?

The prizes:
1st prize - a 3-month deviantART subscription and a special feature in my journal.
2nd prize - a 1-month deviantART subscription and a special feature in my journal.
3rd prize - a randomly-picked entry from the competition will receive a 1-month subscription. Anybody could win!

Additionally, I will display every entry I get in my journal, so you can check out each other's efforts!

And how's this benefit the charity, then?

For every entry I receive, I will donate 50 pence to Cancer Research UK from my own pocket. Unfortunately, since my pockets are not that deep, I have had to set a limit on the amount I can afford to give (I will still accept entries past that limit, of course!) But if you want to help out yourself, and you're just that awesome, you can make your own donations at their website!

If you donate, tell me the amount you donated in a note and I will put your name in pride of place in my journal!

Are there any rules?

Only two! One entry per person, please, and please put effort into your pictures - I won't accept scribbles or clearly rushed work. If possible, send me a link to the oekaki animation!

The deadline date for entries is December 25th, Christmas Day!
