Since it's recent launch here on dA, the "Body Landscapes" (or 'Bodyscapes' for short) has become a pitfall of miscats and problem images, as people either don't understand it or are using it as a dumping ground to place *ahem* "artistic" nudes they want to fly under the general radar.

I'm writing this article to help clear things up and hopefully inspire some people to surf this new gallery and report the mis-categorizations like I do. It's a tough job if only one person cares.

First off, let's discus what a Bodyscape isn't: It's not a person, who is also on a landscape, as in these examples pulled from the new gallery:



Now I'm not picking on these people! They may not speak English, or understand the category, or may have clicked the wrong category by mistake. I know it does happen. Moving on: Likewise, "Body Landscapes" is not a place for you to put misc. artistic (or not artistic) nudes. These are also culled from the "Bodyscapes" gallery:



All good pieces, but not at all what the category was intended for. So what exactly is a "Body Landscape?" The Gallery Description reads as follows:

"Body landscapes are photographs of parts of the human body, this also includes close-ups of body parts. For example photographs of folded hands, close up of a face or a the human body from the neck to the knees. Please only upload tasteful photos."

Quite simply: it is a picture of the human body taken in such as way as to *resemble * a landscape. So now lets see some awesome examples of what a "Body Landscape" should truly look like. These are taken from both the new category and elsewhere on dA (often because they were submitted before this category existed.) Disclaimer: Yes, some of these are from my gallery.



I hope that clears things up! Without a GD to babysit this category it will become a dumping ground for miscellaneous images unless we, the concerned artists of dA, unite together and (gasp!) use the "Report" button when we browse.
