Hello all and welcome to my first installement of Lit Stock features. The point: illustrating passages of famous books with stock pics.
And now we start with John Milton's absolute classic: Paradise Lost

Book I
Seest thou you dreary plain, forlorn and wild,
The seat of desolation, void of light,
Save that glimmering of these livid flames
Casts pale and dreadful ?




Book II
The Stygian council thus dissolved, and forth
In order came the grand infernal peers,
Midst came their mighty pamount, and seemed
Alone the antagonist of heaven […].




Book IV
All trees of noblest kind for sight, smell, taste ;
And all amid them stood the tree of life,
High eminent, blooming ambrosial fruit
Of vegetable gold ; and next to life
Our death the tree of knowledge grew fast by […].




Book VI:
Go Michael of celestial armies prince,
[…] lead forth my armèd saints
By thousands and by millions ranged for fight […] .




Book XI
He looked and saw wide territory spread
