For a long time =
Butchers has been spearheading a movement to create a separate Forum for the unfettered discussion of world religions and world philosophies. He has met opposition, and he has gained support, along with =
Gibah .
There are a number of reasons suggested to me to not separate religious discussions form political discussions, and there were an equal amount of reasons in support of separating the two topics. The one reason to separate the two that gained my support was to protect those who wish to discuss religious topics from those who do not wish to discuss them, and vice-versa.
In the controlled environment of the Forum within the DA Religious Forum Club the discussions can be more closely monitored, and vulgarities, profanities, and outright personal attacks against people professing their idealogies shall not be tolerated as they are in other Forums. If you do not wish to enter the private Forum of the DA Religious Forum Club, then there is no reason to enter into a discussion and flame someone for their opinions.
Anyone not following the "Forum Rules of Engagement", DA Forum Posting Policies, and DA Posting Etiquette Policies shall, without exception, be reported to the DA Admins, to be dealt with according to their means.
This is not to say that opposing opinions are discouraged, but they feel that it is time that civility and diplomacy be afforded to this topic, and I agree.
If the discussion of Religious Debate interests you, then I encourage you to click on the link, join discussion thread, or start a religiously related discussion thread of your own.

[link] Video: Polish Man Tasered to Death in a Canadian Airport by CRMP. Tasers seem to have taken center stage in both Canada and the US after numerous incidents involving the use of Tasers have resulted in deaths. After the Tasering of a Polish immigrant in BC, another BC man died after being Tasered and beaten with batons.
Meanwhile, Stephen Harper has called an inquiry into the dealings of former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney with German-Canadian businessman Karlheinz Schreiber and climate change seems to be low on the priority list for the Conservatives. Oh what a world we live in.

Recent News:

According to genocideintervention.net, "The United Resistance Front, a newly formed umbrella group for five rebel factions, took control of a government base in response to alleged attacked by the Sudanese army and Janjaweed militias on Nov. 19.
Sudanese president Omar al-Bashir called on the Popular Defence Forces 'to open training camps and to gather mujahadeen not for the sake of war but to be ready for anything,' which groups such as the Sudan Liberation Movement took as a declaration of war."

SaveDarfur.org states, "Rebels on Saturday demanded Beijing pull its peacekeepers out of Darfur, just hours after a unit of Chinese army engineers flew into the Sudanese region.
'We oppose them coming because China is not interested in human rights. It is just interested in Sudan's resources. We are calling on them to quit Sudan, especially the petroleum areas.'"
----------------------
Monthly Summary:
Tensions remain strong in the Sudan as natives are unsure of the trustworthiness of supporting nations. Some Darfurians claim that nations such as China are sending aid only to protect their personal interests such as oil. They will not accept help from countries that supply arms to al-Bashir's government in Khartoum.
