deviantFilm was heralded as a big step forward for dA.
I believe it could still be.
However, there is an argument you may not be aware of. It concerns Music Videos.
Before anybody shouts that I have a vested interest in this - I have none. I have no music videos to submit nor any planned for the future. I just feel this issue is indicative of how film on dA is being handled.

For those who don't want to click and read here's the gist.
dA does not accept music video submissions as per the rules. Yet exceptions are made for people that are actively sought by dA. Apparantly, they are professional and as such should be given special dispensation.
So a professional photographer that shoots porn should be given special dispensation?

Just trust that THEY know what they are doing. They must be professional after all; that confused, rambling yet patronizing message followed by 'trust me', George Bush must be proud. And it's not like 'they' feel they have to have the last word or anything, is it?
Freedom of speech indeed. Special cases? Deviants break rules?
Ignore the puppet theatre and directorial jesters, trust in the truth of the signal.
