Printmaking Series Two - Intaglio Printing II

^stigmatattoo:iconstigmatattoo: reports, July 12
Printmaking produces images with visual qualities that are very different from those obtained through drawing or painting directly, and each technique adds its own peculiarities to the way each piece is conceived. However, with its odd and alchemical combinations of unusual materials, specific tools and enormous machines, Printmaking is often a strange and foreign territory even for artists accustomed to studio work on other disciplines.

traditionalART - December 07

I’ve been on dA for about a year now, and feel it’s about time I gave something back to the community. This monthly news feature is going highlight some of, in my opinion, the best unseen traditional art out there. I’ll be including 12 different deviants each issue. If you like what you see, feel free to check out the galleries on show, and remember to +fav the article so more people can become acquainted with these stunning artists! They’ve all got different styles, so try looking at something new!

:iconlarabozzolo:

A relatively new artist here on dA, I was lucky enough to catch one of her deviations in the “newest” section. Her work is jam-packed with colour and life, and would be perfect for children’s illustration.

* * *

:iconnatiq:

One of the deviants I have been watching ever since I joined dA, I really enjoy natiq's paintings- they have such an interesting ethnic style.

* * *

:iconvitibian:

Amazing talent, some truly beautiful work. I can’t wait to see more! And only fifteen… :wow:

* * *

:iconkechu7:

An artist that I have frequently spotted around the thumbshare forum, kechu has a great eye for colour and some serious skill.

* * *

:iconiseliljo2:

Some lovely traditional work here, thanks to :iconfwadtl: for nominating.

* * *

:iconla-belle-epoque:

Some really great pieces, an artist I look forward to seeing progress in the future.

* * *

:iconxlisapoox:

Amazing detail within intricate designs- check it out.

* * *

:iconwatermonster:

Some great ink pictures can be found in this varied gallery

* * *

:iconangelbearlina:

Nice traditional work in this gallery- the use of charcoal is outstanding.

* * *

:iconvisualawakenings:

An awesome style of painting that looks equally good from a distance and close up.

* * *

:iconlenasartworxs:

Some awesome paintings uniquely set out on sawblades, as well as some lovely sketches in this varied gallery.

* * *

:iconskadj:

Amazing pencil drawings, this is certainly an artist to watch!

Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoyed this selection of traditional artists! It's great to know that there's so much quality out there, I had real trouble cutting it down to twelve. At least it means the next issue will be just as crammed with talent!

Suggestions as to how to improve this article, or artist nominations for next month, are very welcome!

Dussty.
