CONTEST UPDATE!!!
I have gotten a huge response, but not a lot of entries yet! You still have plenty of time to enter!!!

DC vs. MARVEL Clash!
This contest will require you to design an ORIGINAL CHARACTER from either the DC, or MARVEL universe. The idea here is to support your favorite universe, because you, the fans and entrants, will ultimately choose the grand champion!
Prizes will be awarded for the top three characters from each universe (6 total!!!) chosen by a panel of judges. In addition, a journal vote from you will determine the best overall character from those winners, claiming bragging rights and bonus treasure for the top three winners from that universe!
Your original character must have a name and some sort of costume. Give your character powers that make sense for the universe they reside in. Tell us who his/her friends and/or enemies are. We are assuming this is PG rated. Teams are allowed as long as they fight together the majority of the time (Fantastic Four, JLA, X-Men) Collaborations are accepted as long as you decide beforehand how your gonna split the loot should you win. Have fun and remember ultimately you want your team to win!

This contest is open to all lovers of comics. You may enter any art form except literature, however you will be judged in the following categories:
~Character Originality~
~Abilities Originality~
~Artistic Merit (Comics Related)~
~Adherance to Theme~
~Character Lore/History~
Each category will be judged from 1-10 for a total of 50 points. You may enter up to TWO entries, which can be good guys, bad guys, or from either universe. Pencils, inks, colors will all be accepted as entries, but remember the catagories you will be judged on. If you enter a collaboration, make sure you agree to the split of loot BEFORE you enter!!!

~In addition, The top three finishers will receive an origami sculpture created by me (If you have a favorite animal, let me know, I can probably make it!)~

Because of the nature of comics, I realize some of the prizes may be more valued than others to different people. I have decided to split the loot according to the order of winners. Grand Champion will have first choice, followed by second, third, etc. The Grand Champion will also receive the last prize that was not picked by anyone (for a total of two of the main prizes). Remember, the top three winners from the winning universe will all receive a bonus prize not listed here!!!
